Well ranked is pointless now

Yeah I feel the same way. No point in playing ranked now that I'm in diamond.

Not only is it stressful, the best way to gain RP still remains placement. And that's boring because...

Fighting usually means you either lose or most of your squad needs a respawn. The risk and reward is not worthy of fighting. 

Running for placement is boring. 

There is no reason for me to play ranked. Even if I win with 1-3 kills, I can easily lose two games and erase 2/3 of the gain. Placing top 3 each match just to feel progress demotivates me. 

Especially BC I play matches against people with over 5,000 RP on PS4. How is this even possible?

I hear ya. If you're unable to find others to play with then i guess you'll have to accept your rank. Not everyone is going to make it to predator.

Ranked in Diamond is bad but give it some time..
Right now, I think its best to wait for more players to rank up out of platinum so you can stand on their shoulders to get into Apex Predator.

That how I got out of platinum. It took me almost a month.
But within the last week after solos, I noticed all the super sweaty players had moved out of platinum and my platinum tug-of-war was over.
I quickly made Diamond. And I believe all my friends will be in Diamond by the end of this week.

So there is still time, to reach Apex Predator.
We are still early, we are the second wave of Diamond players.

The first wave of Diamond player entered diamond before the iron crown event!
And when the third, fourth and fifth wave of Diamond players come.
We will stand on their shoulders and make Apex Predator.
I made Gold on the first day or two and it was super sweaty and hard to get out. but I gave it some time and now gold is a joke rank.

I can remember to get out of gold, I stop playing ranked for a week and focused on my homework and semester finals.

When I came back to ranked, Gold was super easy to get out of then I quickly made platinum.

Whats funny is the fact Diamond feels exactly how Gold felt on day 1 and 2 of fanked.

There was a lot of campy and Longbow spamming.

And is exactly how Diamond is right now.

Camp and Longbow spamming.

But give it some time.

The problem is not the vast difference in difficulty going from Plat to Diamond (and I agree, the difference is almost precisely how Gold Vs Plat was a month ago).

The problem is that as soon as you hit Diamond, you lose your play group, as it makes absolutely no sense for Plat players to rank up in games full of Diamond & Apex Predators.

It'll be interesting to see if Diamond follows the same pattern as Plat did a month ago, though I suspect the more punishing entrance fee combined with the removal of the skill ceiling on opponents might result in the player pool shrink rate (players abandoning ranked mode) matching the growth rate (players promoting into diamond).

If that turns out to be the case it might not get noticeably easier.

I don't think I'm apex predator worthy at all. It's just the games went from doable to straight insanely hard from just a few RP I needed to get into diamond. All I get it super good squads and I have no chance of winning

I got 3rd place with 1 kill. +4 rp. Lose the next game immediately. I lost it. So basically I just wasted 20minutes of my life

Yep playing in ranked is a waste of time for sure. The loot is still god awful. Me and my team can loot the pit and 2 areas and only have 1 body shield out of the 3 of us

It's not worth getting put against the sweaty tryhards that don't have a job and play this game all day. If they had a solo queue option it would be better but until then ranked is actually a waste of time.
