The scout can’t beat a r-99 at close range, or a pk. At least, it shouldn’t.
Also, not a lot of people use snipers. Besides, they’ve basically only been nerfing snipers since s1, so how could it be worse?
If you’re having troubles at mid-ranges with an auto weapon, the only thing I can say is recoil control.
Well, sure, in a perfect situation of perfectly matched players, the ones with the better loot win. But, this is a battle royale, so there are supposed to be a lot of different factors, one of which is the loot. You forget that positioning often matters more, as if you get an ambush or high ground on someone you can do a lot.
If everybody had perfectly balanced loot, why have a battle royale? That game would basically be FFA Overwatch, which I’m sure many people would like, but that’s not this game.
The r-301 is pretty good. Sure, it may be an inferior r-99, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s a very good weapon, and with the hop up it does good damage.
The assault rifles in this game are all pretty good. Hemlok is great with single fire and burst, havoc is great but the charge time can get in the way, and the flatline is pretty good.
Havoc is a high risk high reward weapon as well, as the charge up time leaves you vulnerable to burst damage weapons like prowler or pk. Plus, if you duck and shoot, they’ll be forced to switch or close the distance.
All in all, they didn’t really change the movement, they’ve balanced the weapons more, the skill ceiling is pretty much the same, and the matchmaking is at least somewhat balanced now.

The scout can most definitely beat most guns at close range. I've tested this in the firing range with a buddy. If you get the target to miss a couple of bullets the G7 will outgun any automatic. 20 bullets in a purple mag. The r-99 will run empty before a G7 does. It'll trade-off against a Havoc.
- 6 years ago@lxrgmonster Another thing. A lot of people are bringing up the charge time of the havoc but when you encounter people I'd give a rough estimate about 60% of the time you're getting ambushed. The Havoc isn't really a forgiving weapon meaning once someone charges that thing up somebody is getting dropped. Havoc outguns 97% of the guns in this game (not including charge) if you don't believe me go to the firing range with a buddy and test it out. The training dummies put out false info due to them not having helmets on. Please fix that EA
- 6 years ago@lxrgmonster Well, the charge is it's main downside. If you're ambushing someone, chances are you'll drop them. It's worse for someone using the havoc that's getting ambushed, as they can't react as fast.

@lxrgmonsterWell, there are a ton of different weapons that can be good if your enemy misses their shots.
If you're good enough, you'll be at the stage where you don't normally miss. The R-99, when all the shots are hit, will kill anyone purple shield and down. Since it uses up it's mag so quickly, the R-99 will out dps a G7.The Havoc will out dps the G7 if you hit your shots.
Sure, if they miss, the G7 can compete, but if they were actually good and didn't miss, then the G7 shouldn't be able to compete.

Clearly I need to play with you because 99 percent of the time you're having close quarter gunfights. You sure you playing ranked?
