@heman277 I think season 11 (rank 1.0) was perfect. I think what happened is there were too many smurfs but at least you could still grind but I think the main reason was pros were complaining non stop about ranking system being not serious because they said those Masters didnt derserve to be masters they played too sweaty and died too early. So they gave a free pass to everybody season 12 by increasing placement points.
Then pros went crazy complaining that there were wayyyyyyyyyy too many masters. So they teamed up with many pros like Ghurl to create a new ranking system (rank 2.0) that would be better. This gave season 13 rank system. It was a disaster not fun to play but pros enjoyed it for a couple of weeks.
What they enjoyed was to have 10 teams in ring #5. But soon players got bored of the loot , hide and avoid fighting that it started to be like before.... 4 teams only for ring #5. Pros got bored, complained about players hiding to get points, about being Master without firing a bullet by hiding. That is when Respawn started not to give a * about pros opinion. And there came the LP system (rank 3.0)
They already used MMR since the very begining, it is not new like they said it's just that they fined tuned it by adding layers of MMR grouping.
This sucks real bad right now been playing for so long and still am bronze 1 while I used to be a platinum 2
