100% with you on this. It straight up feels like it's been getting worse as times especially the last couple of months. The game doesn't feel like it's balanced at all and the players that are getting punished by SBMM are the casual average and slightly above average players. It literally caters only to high-skill/pro-level players and low-skill/new players. I have 7k games with 10k kills and I'm getting sick and tired of public lobbies full diamond and up players when the highest I've been able to solo queue through ranked was plat 2. To much more of this and I might just put the game down for good until they readjust SBMM after they * it over back in december which would be sad for me.
@TimakramerSomeone explained it too me a few days ago about how sbmm is working fine, except for the part where the premade squads ( mostly full pred squads who can only be killed by actuall sunlight ) still get in the normal matches..
I personally think the player base is now so extremly low that the matchmaking has no other choice then to put predators with lower lvl squads.
Just yesterday 2 matches in a row me and the same guy ended up in a squad together... that had never happend too me before not in release of the game not in s1,s2 s3,s4,s5 this game could have destroyed games like that crap fortnite when it comes to player count........ but too bad ... they cared more about useless crapp people can buy so they look a that differant, instead of listening to the dedicated players...
I totally agree with you that respawn has put way to much effort into catering towards newer players with the off chance they'll become a dedicated player. Games with a strong dedicated community/player base tend to survive for years just think about TF2 (I played that game a handful of times so im not sure if my claim is true) That has been my biggest fear to be honest. That respawn will loose such a large portion of its dedicated players that the game will eventually die and newer players will eventually be unable to even play due to level of high skill players that can handle a high skill environment. Rainbow 6 Siege comes to mind. I've been holding onto hope that respawns claim back in S5 that more people than ever were playing Apex but honestly, that's all it feels like. A claim. Just yesterday I experienced the same as you did as I was paired with the same pair of English ladies not twice but three times and it was like 8pm pst when the Oregon servers should be poppin but it didn't feel like that at all. As cool as it was the realization that Apex could be dying is disheartening. I totally agree, even mentioned it in a thread I posted not long ago, that a great way to fix some of the gripes the community has with the matchmaking is to separate lobbies that have full premade squads with solo queuers hell even duos with a plus one solo queuer would be a sigh of relief. Yea and the kicker is that the vast majority of players are in the average skill range in which you’d think that they would want to help that demographic out the most. I get it for like brand new players that are under lvl 50 and still haven’t really gotten the game down, but after that it just gets messy... hopefully cross play will fix all this
I've noticed that after playing with a random I've been put with same player in the next game and we weren't a premade squad. I've seen this happen a few times now.
I would say I'm a below average player but I regularly see diamond and pred ranked players in most games I play. It makes the game so much more difficult for players like me.
