Just have to face it - this game isn't meant to be played without pre-made teammates. Playing normal trios/duos you get people who just installed Apex and are trying out their first FPS game against full squad of 20 kill badges and predator badges. Then you would think that playing ranked would put you together with people with the same skill level as you, but think again. Then you are put together with people who didn't use their parent's help to finish the Apex intro guide, but are no match for the predators and 20 kill badges we still have to face in platinum. They are able to pick up weapons and do 0-100 dmg while you have 1500. This game is a good mentality test for how much shenanigans you can take without getting banned for telling your teammates what you think of them.

Still waiting for developers to comment.
Too many people thinks their teammates are objectively bad only because they dont think and act exactly as they do. When you choose to play with randoms, there will be misunderstandings in the heat of battle and also straight up bad team synergy based on how every player in the team perceives the game and how to play it. Ive had teammates in silver rank who tells me that I am useless and I dont know how to play the game only because I dont want to camp in a house the entire game. Same player ends up with 1/5 of my dmg dealts and kills after I carry him to a win. Is he wrong? Is he a "bad" player? No but neither am I.
So if you choose to play with randoms you should accept this as something inevitable. Dont assume that your random teammates will share your subjective ways how to play this game. And dont assume that you are the teams In game leader. Too many times are random teammates trying to micro manage your every move and then calls you bad only because you dont do as they say. Just do your thing and try to play as a team but dont try to force teamplay if you notice it isnt come naturally.

@NerfMyAimPlzi think my team mates are bad bcs they have less then a 100 Kills on their characters, which is likely paired with absolute no knowledge on how to use their legends ultimate, camping at chokepoints , fighting uphill battles, making unnecessary noise, giving up position , looting while mates are shooting , not paying attention to sound queue, ect.
Why does this game deal me the newbs most of the time ? Most of the things you just listed are exactly what I am talking about. When I play this game in casual mode or ranked below Diamond 3 as a solo Q, I dont want to think about not making unnecessary noise or if I fight in uphill battles or give up my position. I just wanna play and have fun. Is your more sneaky and causious way of playing the game the only "non-noobish" way? Seems like you are demanding that your random teammates view this game exactly as you do. You will never achieve this unless you play with premades. I am not saying that you are wrong, but you arent universal right either, thats my point.
I dont know if you are mainly talking about casual or ranked and if the latter, what rank are you usually spending your time in? Because if you play in like silver-gold etc, you cant really blame the MM for matching you with less experienced players. So if you are so skilled and good, then I am sure you will very quickly solo Q carry your way out of those low elo ranks and there be matched with more experienced players =)
And I am gonna be the one to say it. I know this is gonna * alot of people of but its true. Its usually the bad players who blames and complains the most. I play at least two accounts solo Q from whatever low rank I am reset till to Diamond 2 or 3 every split and this is absolutely true. The players who always rage and blames you whenver they got knocked with 10 dmg dealt are always the bad ones. The good players understands that alot of random unfortunate stuff can happen in a fight and usually just accept that they lost.

@NerfMyAimPlzim talking pubs, and game after game after game i get 99% newbs, no matter my performance, time of day, queue time, ect. that would not be the case if it would be completely random.
my friend (lower KD,way lower matchcount, way lower total dmg) doesnt share the same experience and ill bet you wont either ... so im not that far off if i say : its rigged for some people !
You can still see they have bugs in the UI while summing up your K/D or DMG , some nasty rounding bugs that will make a 1.2 K/D to a 2KD and similar.
That leads me to the speculation that the MM might also have some nasty side effects due to rounding numbers the wrong way.
Either its a bug or its rigged, but in my case , it surely doesnt play out the way they described it in that infamous blogpost how the "old system" worked. - reconzero3 years agoSeasoned Ace@PeterN_UK
"If don't play as a team in terms of positioning, looting, common sense. The best thing is to re-match make lobby. Just quit..."
I agree 100% in theory. In practice this means that if you have a non-standard playstyle, or refuse to accept the meta-of-the-moment, then you will end up quitting every single match you get put into. Every. Single. One.
The first two things I do in any match is look at squadmates' banners and then see where the jumpmaster wants to drop. I would say that in about 19 out of 20 matches I get squaddies who couldn't think their way out of a wet paper bag. It would only occur to them to try to shoot their way out. Which, as we know, is a recipe for sub-one k/d and 1.4% win rate. If I quit all these matches at the drop then suddenly I'm playing Apex Legends Lobby Simulator.
This game needs to drop all pretense at matching based on skill, and start matching based on playstyle. I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in the face. Yeah I agree with you that the matchmaking in pubs doesnt really set you up for a fair chance of winning all the matches. But how would even a matchmaking that allowed all players at all skill levels to have a fair match even work? I think its important to remeber that this is a very unforgiving game. Assume that we assign a number that represent skill, like the worst, bottiest noob is "1", the best pro is "100" and an average players, probably someone who is stuck around mid gold to Plat4, is "50". The problem is that this "100" player will easily smash a "90" player and a "50" player will get destroyed by a "60" player but easily smash a "40" player etc etc. To have a "fair" matchmaking in pubs would only work for the average player (more players in the queue).
I guess you have to look at pubs as a free for all tdm almost. You cant expect to have super fair matches in most of the games. If you want a more fair game mode, then I guess you have to play ranked which at least is better.

@reconzero I agree upon matching players by their playstyle also apex already do that as they manipulate win rate this way.

@NerfMyAimPlzi dont care about the enemies, i care about what i get as mates. you can put me in sweat lobbies, i dont mind the divetrail, but if so ... not teamed up with a 50 kill octane as every time !!!
