Why change the battle pass

They need to work on making the game playable instead of trying to empty people’s pockets 

i hope if they go through with this apex gets discontinued just like how apex mobile did 

there’s so many better games worth playing then to waste your money on a game that can’t even control cheaters or use proper skill based match making, they can’t even make a game function how do they expect to make money their only job is to keep the game functioning 😭🙏

Im done with Apex come season 22. I spent 13.99 CAD for one battle pass and the expectation then was if I play enough I can get the coins to continue. Greedy sock cuckers can't even do their jobs and implement any meaningful anti cheat, or non bias matchmaking, or adequate servers.

The sure system to kill games. XDefiant and Hyperscape had the same system... and killed both games at the start... It took 5 years to EA to emulate them... but finally they are gonna make it.

At this point, we collectively as a community, especially people who plays on steam, just spam negative reviews on the game, just like what people did with helldivers 2, since they refuse to listen, we start a riot. Enough is a enough https://tutuapp.uno/ 

The news about the changes on the battlepass is horrendous you can't buy passes using coins is bad instead coins its 10$ each split I think this change is really bad and could affect the player base. For the love of christ don't let us buy battlepass using IRL money.

I am genuinely surprised at the new battle pass scheme.  So, those gold coins I ground for this BP are basically worthless.

I usually play with 3 other people on and off.  2 of them have already said they are out.  I am seriously considering dropping the game for at least a season to see how this pans out.  There is no way this is what the community wanted or asked for.  Strikes me as tone deaf but I guess we'll see the uptake.  I can't see this ending well though.  It's a bit of a slap in the face.

I don't typically buy cosmetics as I think they are not very good value.  It would be nice to pick and choose and get the ones you want but not for the money being asked.  You can literally buy a game for the cost of some of the cosmetics.

I guess time will tell.

@Airish85 The problem isn't because of FOMO at all. My point is they're trying to get more money out of people while they don't fix issues with the game, such as the cheating situation.

While you say, "missing out on the battle pass doesn't stop you from playing the game", (and it is true), there's still no real point in playing when we're just going to die to a cheater almost every single match or get kicked/lagged out by the awful servers, or even not hear someone running up behind us due to the audio not working properly. If the game is unplayable, it makes not having the battle pass less worth it to play the game.

I did also say I could ignore the battle pass and still play the game, but with it also being one of the few reasons why I play, that's another issue with it. Before you say there's a "free battle pass", that doesn't really mean a whole lot to me and most likely for a lot of players.

You can't expect people to remain interested in something if there's nothing to earn or to progress through in a way that matters to them while the game is being neglected by EA/Respawn. One example is that they added weapon progression, but it was implemented in such a grindy way, that most just forget it exists. I focused on it for about a week and then instantly stopped caring as I saw cheaters running around with 3 level 50+ weapon badges for guns like the R99, Wingman, and Sentinel. (Which just shows how much they are able to cheat without getting banned).

The TL;DR here,  the game isn't really "playable", its far from it. Any bit of reason to still play goes a long way, but if EA and Respawn are going to keep trying to drain players of money while refusing to fix any of the issues, player's FOMO would be the least of anyone's worry.

Bro, dont you think if fixing the cheater situation would be easy they had not already done it? Can you name even one online game that doesnt have a cheaters? 
Cheat developers make more money than the game devs. Cheat development companies have multiple times bigger profit % than EA or Respawn. 

Yes, you are speaking about the majority of players. Thats the trick of EOMM. To get you playing more because you have to achieve certain level/stats to get a rewarded. 
I am old enough to remember playing games for the fun of them. Fun was the reward. I guess that makes me different from the majority of playerbase. Game treats you poorly and you still play to get the rewards. You feel miserable after playing the game but hey heres your new purple banner or legendary rampage skin that doubles the visual clutter around the crosshair when you shoot it and has discolights on it for everyone to see you from other side of the map. 

Again I am just a player / observer in this situation but just out of curiosity how would you make money for EA with Apex? You do understand that their only income from Apex is the microtransactions. This BP change suggests that old system isnt providing enough money to meet the demands. So how would YOU make the money so that there is no discrimination or Pay-to-Win to keep competitive integrity? And kind reminder you will lose your job if you dont come up with a solution to make X target profits.

Since Season 2 when I purchased the pass, earning the next season's pass by playing hundreds of hours of this game has been the main motivation for me to keep playing, and so I can spend some money on the skins instead... I've spent at least $700-800 on skins since the game came out, $80 of skins this season alone... because I know I can just grind out the battle pass and EARN the next one, because that's how it SHOULD be... And to support the game by paying for a skin I like - take care of your player base, and they will take care of you.

Needless to say, I, too, will not be purchasing the battle pass, or any skins until this is changed. Apex Legends I've spent over 5000 hours playing, just for them to pull this sort of crap now... How dare they.
