Why did console aim assist get a huge buff for this season?

I understand the new map being mostly medium - long range but why buff aim assist so hard? For those of you who don't know, PC players explaining that controller players had aim assist and tracking,...

@E9ine_AC Thats the problem when a company makes an fps game that has zero understanding of fps themselve... probably arent playing fps games either

@matzesingt The companies main goal is profit, they have just been shy of a billion dollars as of yesterday afternoon.
