Why does damage to conduit tactical not count?

I recently got a squad wipe on a conduit team and did roughly 180 damage as they were all low when I checked the replay but only 52 damage actually registered. Is this a bug because if not it complet...

I believe her tactical ability is more of a support than assault.

I'm pretty sure you're aware of the fact that her ability just gives a shield boost to you and your teammates.

I've verified that damage to conduit shields don't count as damage so I've taken to using her shield to engage in peek battles with other teams (that don't have a conduit) where I can grow my evos and without worry of growing their's. It feels like cheating but it's coded into the game so...
