I reached Diamond IV again this season and literally every match me and my squad is matched against predators. I've fought the #1 and #2 Predators many times now and this is in a diamond lobby. There are so many predator 3 stacks in there that it just feels like a predator queue. It doesn't make any sense to play this because you don't get more points if you beat a predator and for them it's just about W-keying every squad they see. As a Diamond IV, I should be at most be playing against a Diamond I or Predator 1000-950 (maybe). It's not like I'm a bad player, I was getting many 5 kill and 2k damage matches in Plat, but there I was fighting against mostly other plats and hardly any diamonds. I know Predators only make up 0.2% of the ranked queue and that load times might be longer for them, but I feel like that should be ok if they want to play in Pred ranked lobbies and if not they can just join casual. Right now, the diamond rank feels like a filler rank, an easy way for predators to farm kills and stats.

Yea so I've been in Diamond ranked on Ps4 for about a week so far. I made my way over halfway through Diamond IV and the first 3 days in Diamond my team and I were killing it. Maybe once every 5 games we would lose points and even then it was around 30 at a time. Honestly we would see maybe 5 squads total with Predators in them, and that was ok. Manageable but not ideal. I was 200 points away from reaching Diamond III, and then all of a sudden we were going up against some the top 100 Apex Predators every game. EVERY SINGLE DIAMOND GAME I QUEUE UP FOR HAS A FULL PREDATOR SQUAD AS THE CURRENT CHAMPIONS. Yesterday we saw BackOffMyJanks with SoarKobi and another content creator.Today we got killed by CujoThaGod (who has over 50,000 kills btw) and Soarkobi, and the game before that the champions were the #4, #5, and #7 Apex Predators in NA. I have over 10,000 kills combined with all legends, but why the heck do I have to fight my way through Diamond against the best 50 players in the world on Ps4.Why do Diamond players have to play against the top 100 Apex predators every game. It's assinine and ridiculous. I'm just trying to rank my way up through Diamond but 75% of the lobbies are Predators. That doesnt make any sense to me. Diamond shouldn't even be a rank if im never going to be playing against players of my own skill. Yes I would like to get to the skill of Predator, but its impossible when someone like CujoThaGod will kill my teammates in 4 consecutive wingman shots.I understand I still could work on my aim, but its still impossible to play Diamond ranked when there are Predators full sending everything. I have something to lose as a Diamond. I still need to play aggressive, but conservatively so I can still get kills as a squad, but make it to the top 3. It's nearly impossible with the top Predators snowballing their way through Diamond lobbies. They have nothing to lose, so they will full send any fight and come out on top because they play the game for 15 hours a day. Im only able to play for 2-3 hours at most a day. You can't expect me to get better by getting smacked by professionals every game in Diamond queues.For the love of god make Predator only lobbies. I dont care if it takes Twitch streamers 10 minutes to queue into a ranked game. Just get them out of Diamond lobbies and make it fair for people who dont have 15 hours a day to play Apex.

If I ever get to Diamond I may just stop playing ranked. There really isnt a point playing in Diamond unless you're on the level of a Predator. You only go against the top players in Diamond that have been playing together for months that don't miss shots. Hell even in Plat 4 I get put against AP if I stay on late enough. I get that there isnt enough players but maybe give AP their own lobbies

It'd make sense for Diamond 1 to face low-rank predators; they'd in effect be the gate keepers who'd push back those diamond players not good enough to reach predator.However, atm you've got Diamond 4 regularly facing lobbies composed of the very best predators.This makes Diamond 3, 2 & 1 completely pointless.Moreover, as Diamond is the largest rank (in terms of experience needed to escape it), you're left with a huge grind.This grind drives away the vast majority of diamond players, further compounding the problem of sparse lobbies.I bet there are actually more active Apex Predators in ranked than there are active Diamond players.For most (myself & my entire Apex friend group) it's "Reach Diamond in the 1st month -> quit ranked for the remainder of the season".Does Respawn have a plan for addressing this issue? Are they even aware of it? Do they even care?

Honestly I forgot about this thread here and was only coming back to see if there's any info on SBMM. Not only is ranked messed up in Diamond lobbies, but casual is a bigger sweatfest than ever. I liked Duos, and some of my friends too, but after it ended we all stopped playing the game and moved on to other games.
I played some ranked matches today on my alt acc which is a gold/plat account and in gold at least the matches feel a bit more normal: You have 2 potato teammates, but you're playing 1vs3 against gold players with some occasional diamond/pred smurfs. Literally the only way the game is somewhat fun and casual is smurfing in ranked smh. Me and my friends believed there was no incentive to smurf in this game, even when they introduced ranked because you could just play casual instead, but now all these decisions are gonna do is make smurfing more prevalent.

@dlpaulson12 This is by far the best example I have seen. The Devs seriously need to listen. I'm a good player, haven't played ranked so much, only in gold. But even gold lobbies I see apex preds and below in every single game. How is that fair at all? I get what people are saying that diamonds should have to play preds but at the same time those dudes play so much it's unrealistic for someone who works a 9-5 job to be able to play as much as these streamers, but again this company only cares about it's streamers so nothing will probably happen. When someone who has 10k kills all around and they are complaining about the lobbies, I think that's pretty crazy. I've got merked by predators and it sucks man

I've gotten diamond each ranked series and feel the same. So far I've quit playing ranked as soon as I get to diamond each time, it's just not fun.
At least if it was plat straight to pred, maybe I'd have incentive to play because I'd be part of the pred club against other preditors. Plus, I'd probably fight for my world rank more.
As it stands, getting to diamond for me just means not playing ranked the rest of the season.

I mean you got 10k on every legend. You obviously have the same ratio kills/death. You are placed with them because to apex your on their skill level because of your ratio.

Yep, im here with the same problem.
Hate dimond rank.. you just get stuck after di lvl3 and get put with masters (who were preds last season) and preds from this season...
nothing worse...!

You guys are complaining about diamond but we got the same predator squads in plat 4... lol
Basically except a few friends who made diamond early in the season we all stopped playing as soon as we hit plat 4.
Every game i played in plat 4 i got killed either by current preds in the top 200 or diamond 4 players which i shouldn't bump into before plat 2 or plat 1.
It wouldn't be a problem IF people had better skills, but a lot of plat 4 players are just that, plat 4 players.
So in order to rank up you basically need diamond players who didn't bother ranking up out of plat.
That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
And even with a plat squad having diamond skills, it's a sweatfest.
I get it when i play early or really late because there is not enough people to fill up higher tiers lobbies (which shouldn't be our problem btw) but it is starting to be the same during the afternoon aswell.
