I want "solo mode" to play when I'm alone, if I'm going to play squad, be it with my friends, I don't want to know about random ones.
- 5 years ago@Tuesday_713 if everyone asked for solo mode and supported, they would add solo mode yes, but as there are people who do not want to support like you, there will never be, so please, if you do not want solo mode, do not disturb.
- 5 years ago@ADM-REIxSUPREMO Bud, I'd like them to add solos as much as the next guy, but it's not the support that's the issue.

There's plenty of legend balancing issues, as they are currently designed to run in teamplay, alongside the fact that a lot people would jump on playing solos instead of duos/trios - which was not the point of Apex to begin with, and the list goes on and on and on...
As great as it would be, apart from adding it as an LTM, I don't think we'll ever see solos. There's some speculation that they'll bring back the Iron Crown event in season 8 - you can look forward to that :P - 5 years ago
@Tuesday_713There is no number of reasons, all they said is its bad for the game without elaborating on what the issue was.

I like having the option to play with randoms. Whenever I play with my premade friends, its virtually impossible to get 4k dmg or 20 kills since we, after a good game, just usually distributed the dmg and kills quite evenly among the squad, like 2k dmg, 6-8 kills each. This is not confirmed by Respawn but I truly experience that the lobbies you get sorted to when playing solo with randoms are generally on a much lower overall skill level than when you play as full premade squads. Also, the matchmaking seems to at least try to put premade squads in the same lobbies. For instance, I think its so much more common that people insta-leaves when you knock them when you play solo compared to when playing as a full premade squad, but thats just my experience.
I think a good general way to summarize the situation is that having bad random teammates with no teamplay also means a higher chance of meeting bad random enemies with no teamplay, whereas good premade teammates with teamplay means a higher chance of meeting good premade enemies with teamplay.. Its as simple as that.

"When we introduced Solos as a limited-time mode last year we saw it actually negatively impacted the game, especially when it came to new player retention,"
and
"We’ve also purposely designed Legends and their abilities to compliment teamplay and squad composition, but when played Solo some Legend abilities become useless. These are just some of the reasons we decided not to include Solos in today’s update."
So firstly they state new player retention as a reason, meaning game sense was negatively impacted for new players in solo mode, and secondly the legend balancing issue I mentioned earlier. Also there would be the issue of, for instance, half the lobby playing wraith, or bloodhound, or pathfinder, etc. Because of the fact that only some legends could fend for themselves in solos, others would, as the article states, be completely useless.
I repeat, I am for solos, just elaborating as to why they most likely won't be added as a permanent feature.
