In all honesty, I would be fine with getting rid of party chat all together. In many ways the point of the game is cooperation, team work, communication, and wanting to win. Forcing ppl to talk to there team mates can only reinforce those aspects. If ppl are annoying when in chat then mute them. But when the option is not even there for a person to be heard or for a person to hear others it is a drastic disadvantage and only hinders the game and turn ppl off from playing it. Also its not like doing something like this is unheard of. Many other successful games disable party chat, Call Of Duty's search and destroy mode does this. It forces more communication and better game play. Then even if say a person doesnt have a mic that is still not an issue because those who do can still be heard. Party chat doesnt allow those not in the party to be heard at all and unfortunately for as great as the ping system is not everyone uses it or uses it right.
