I have been gaining only 12 AP every match i win and losing 12 AP every match i lose. My friend (who is the same rank) is gaining 20/30+ every match we win even if i had beter stats i still only get 12 AP is this glitched or just Apex being annoying?
@MrCarri-XTL;DR - You and your friend get placed in the same rank. You are better than him and are the carry, but the game will give him more RP because it considers him noob. So he will rank up faster than you, so it's based on performance but backwards
So 50% win rate, You lose 12 and you gain 12= go nowhere. Your friend will keep ranking up
it says ranking up is based strictly on wins, and not your individual performance. But your MMR is based off of your personal performance, so it is indeed based on performance but the person who is worse ranks up faster.
Don't get me wrong, but I assumed there are some penalties in Arena.
I mean Leaving Early Penalty. 🤔
Last month, I got server disconnection and after that I only got +12 RP when I won.

I was just a silver ranked player so it was very weird for me.
(The enemy looks really good. Because of that, I thought I should get more.)
My assumption logic explained that.
And after 10s matches, I could get normal RP like +20 or +30.
It might be only for me and I might be wrong.
This would make sense if the person that I'm playing with in the same match got similar results. Example. I get +13AP for a win when I'm a Silver II. My friend who is a Gold IV gets +51 AP for the same match. I did more damage more Kills more knocks...you know MORE. but I get only +13AP and for a loss, I get - 12 AP. Funny how he only gets -12AP as well for the same loss. Something is wrong with a bunch of accounts when it comes to proper AP for sure.

I'd like to bring up a point about the matchmaking system that I haven't really seen people mentioning. Assuming that system is working well, said friend may rank up more quickly, but if they don't deserve that rank, they should get punished pretty quickly and sent back. Is arena rank able to drop, unlike ranked BR? It should, that's part of how an ELO system works. I keep comparing to Overwatch's ranking system, as it's similar and one I'm used to. In OW, if you get boosted to a rank you don't belong in, you're going to get knocked down hard.
@pandareno1999I don't think 12 points loss will have any hard hitting impact, particularly when you lump silver in Platinum lobbies anyway. Plus you will get Diamond rewards even if you derank from Diamond to Plat.
I get that point of Arena is not to reward any solo dolo behavior so your personal performance doesn't matter. But this philosophy takes a U turn when MMR based AP gain comes into play.
For example, let's say a team with 70(hypothetical number) MMR rating goes against a team of 85 MMR. The extra AP gained should take that into account instead of each individual members MMR, so each member gets the same points. (in my opinion)
Me and a buddy played ranked area this morning.. I’m silver 2 he’s gold 2.. I’m half way 2600 and he’s at the start of his. Why is it we just went on a 12 game streak and for the first 5-6 I was only getting +15 a game while he was getting +54? I did double the damage and more kills almost every game. He was able to go from gold 2 to gold 1 and half way through it and I’m still not out of silver 2? I got a total of 234 ap while he got over 400? Wtf is that bs... I want answer to how this crap works bc clearly its broken
Me and my friend have been playing Ranked Arenas just to see how far we could get since we only played regular Arenas for fun. We started not so great since we lost 5 and won 5. We ranked up to silver IV pretty quickly but then at silver III we just started getting between 12-14 AP. Sometimes we do a clean sweep with low damage sometimes we go 11 rounds and get some decent kills and damage. Lately we've been getting matched with nothing but diamond II+ but still only get loe AP, and when I check my stats it says I have a 52 win streak. We've played with another friend and hes gotten 62+ AP even tho he got less damage and kills and hes 1 rank lower. Ill try posting more pics cuz its telling me my pictures are too large
