Abandonment Penalty/Kicked from match

So I was in a ranked match and I was going up that giant portal from inside the base, and as soon as I started going up it kicked me out of the match / gave me abandonment penalty.  I thought I seen somewhere if you get abandonment penalty in ranked matches then you lose your loss forgiveness or something for the rest of the split? Is this true? ._.
