I was thinking, wouldnt it be nice if you could completely shut off the click switch of the variable scopes? Especially on a 2x4. I know I could not click the stick to zoom but sometimes in the heat of the moment it happens. I'd much prefer to just lock the thing on 2x on certain guns.

I can't remember, but can't you just remove the sprint keybind? I know for keyboard that removing this keybind makes it so you can't zoom in, does the controller menu not have this ability?

The only thing I guess you can do is go to Settings - Controller - Button Layout - Change sprint to something that isn't your left thumbstick. Might also want to make sure auto sprint is enabled in the Gameplay tab.
Changing sprint should change your toggle keybind on console.
