I ADS alot, even mid-close range with AR and SMG's, i always wondered why is it so hard for me to track people with my aim in Apex Legends, compared to other games. I do notice the ADS difference when i empty my primary weapon's magazine and switch to the secondary, that's when i have trouble connecting the shots and i tend to overaim, not being able to finish a near death target. My FOV setting is 100. Mouse DPI is 500 and in-game sensitivity is 1.8. I'm no Shroud or any pro, but i was always good at FPS games because they're my favourite genre, but i feel gunfights in Apex are never in my favor and it feels like almost every player i face has better gun skills than me. I don't believe it, something else might be wrong, it can't be this way, i should have been used to gunfights til now as i played since launch. I'm not throwing myself into gunfights with half HP or anything, not picking fights that i know i am at a disadvantage, like position or equipment/weapon, i always had great situational awareness, but the gunfights in this game feel so sluggish for me, aiming feels sluggish, i never had so much trouble aiming, especially in a FPS game. I'm still trying to find out why and how to improve on it or if it's just something that doesn't tick for me. My hardware is good, no problems on that end at all.
i've done some tests on the trainings range...
If u want a 90° turn on hipfire is exact the same on ads u need following values...
RE-45 1.0
Wingman 1.2
Alternator / P2020 / R-99 / Peacekeeper / Mastiff 1.3
G7 Scout / R-301 / Flatline / Longbow / Hemlock / Spitfire 1.4
can somebody confirm that?
- 7 years agoRemember reading something similar @A1thir. Where the weapons were grouped up by ads ratio. And I think your calculations are correct.
Doesn't really matter unless you pick up the weapons with the same ratio tho. Also an option to force chosen Fov when using ADS is missing. So building muscle memory with all the different weapons scattered around is very difficult.
I really don't mind having a lower sens sniper with a 6x.
Hell, I can even understand why some would like the higher sens with a low ads to loot more efficiently. But changing to a secondary mid fight and have such sensitivity discrepancy has to be an development oversight.
Think CoD uses the same formula for sensitivity, but there you pick your weapon before the match and usually stick to it. In Apex you're kinda forced to use whatever you find.- 7 years ago
Destiny has this too, but there I had the option to use the same weapon or something simular in my loadout.
Ive had a hell of a time adjusting to all the diffrent senses and then there are the scopes, I now try to stick to the 1x scopes and try to switch guns as soon as possible to something I always used, which is not always an option in a BR.
Hilarity with my aim ensues when I pick up an Re-45 after playing a round with a R301
