aim assist 2024
hello this is a pro player status twitter : I have played 8 hours of M/K today after a hiatus of probably around 2 years and its safe to say I'd never permanently swap back unless they nerfed aim as...

EAs plan is to make profit with Apex.
Which agegroup plays most with controllers? Kids
Which agegroup spends most (parents) money on skins, packs etc? KidsSo who do you think is the preferred new incoming player.
My advice to you as a fellow MnK old timer is, its time to accept defeat. If you want Apex to survive they will most likely buff aim assist and allow movement configs (like they already have) on controller.
Nerfing aim assist would mean controller players leave and Apex will be similar to community driven Quake Live in the next 5 years or so with maybe 500 diehard MnK players and no aim assist. Or they just pull the plug on the game & servers if the player numbers get small enough. And in that case those diehards find a new home playing the R5 Reloaded Apex. But it would be stupid business plan to kill the milking cow now wouldnt it. Please expect more controller buffs.
Where did you get the data that most controller users are kids exactly? I speak as a console player who plays on the PS5 & Xbox X where controllers are the only means of playing games atm & I'm very much an adult category much like the vast bulk of teammates I have played alongside over the years who were also console players. But if you are referring to controller players on PC then that's another thing entirely.
Regarding the old nerfing AA for controller players to some sort of parity with M&K debate I can understand if it was for controller players on PC but certainly not as things currently stand regarding us console players with the giant elephant in the room. That elephant in the room being the difference in frame rate that PC players can enjoy 120fps (capped at 160fps) whilst us console players (especially next gen PS5/XBOX X) can only play on 60fps.In Lehman's terms that means PC players are playing at double the speed, reaction times etc & if that isn't some sort of advantage I don't know what is.The small difference if at all noticeable in AA times between us console players & PC m&k players is only a small compensation aside from frame rate differential but also the many movement advantages that the Timmy Tap Strafer can enjoy on their m&k.
Anyway Respawn have always proved to be in various pro players back pockets as whenever the pros want something changed in the game Respawn will tend to bend over backwards to change it regardless if the changes are for the good of the game or not & are more for the self interest of these pro players. I do expect Respawn to nerf AA for all controller players but to caveat any satisfactory changes then they are going to need to roll out 120fps for us console players first. But from what I hear 120fps on console isn't in the immediate pipeline.
The whole fps difference thing is what throws me off with aim assist. People act like it is such a major impacting change. Funny thing is i went to pred solo queued on 60hrtz while playing on pc mouse and keyboard. You dont need fps to achieve things. You dont need AA to achieve things. The only real bad thing about AA is values not matching across the board. If a console wishes to be in a pc lobby they should have their AA value bumped down to pc levels.
Remove cross play so the consoles can play with themselves. Then remove aim assist cause if you bought a computer, you should be playing on a MNK anyways. Problem solved.
In competition/ranked there should not be any mouse/crosshair manipulation as it should be skill that gets you there. If its cause your on crappy hardware, that is your own fault. To me the minimum requirements are there for a reason.. get off your moms couch and get a job.
The finals just nerfed Aim Assist in a week and a half, Apex 2 years later "Its a sensitive subject". Might be switching games for sure if nothing happens soon.. too bad I wasted a ton of money here to get out performed by brainless robots. And no its not a skill gap.
@CCbathwater For me though console chooses to enter our lobbies. We do not choose to enter consoles thats a forceful join. Something we did not sign up for. So the reducing those on the pc side of things i can understand but at the same time I do not feel like reducing them which would not be possible in some aspects would serve any purpose.
For us we click play its 50/50 if we go into a console lobby. For consoles if they hit play its a 100% chance they go into console lobbies. Some may have pc players here and there but in general yalls lobbies are a lot more natural than ours who are forced it. While mixtape did seem to have some changes that just puts everyone into a lobby that logic still applies to say BR side of apex.
