Apex / Fortnight Clone?

I was looking in my Steam store at new games and "Farlight 84" video looks like assets were ripped from both games.  I see Rampart's amped shield in there,  a character looking a lot like a Loba wannabe, and even a blackhole generator.  The game looks like fun, but I wonder how much is copy paste and how much is original content?  I won't bother posting any videos here, you can find those on your own. However look at this robot and tell me Pathfinder isn't working both sides of the street?!

  • @XubunnytwoThe heroes actually look much more interesting.

i really struggle to get somehow into the lore and the legends in general their backstories seem all very bland and more about what legend xyz is into instead of giving them a proper interesting backstory

an exception is actually revenant surprisingly the mega killer simulacrum has much more character under his metal than the other legends

@matzesingt I have to agree about the Apex lore. I have only been around since they added Mad Maggie, but nothing in the "episodes" section makes any sense to me. I stopped bothering to read them. I checked out a fan made wiki into some of the backstories. Wraith for example is suppose to be an amnesiac scientist who is trying to find answers to who she was ... by killing people in the Apex Games?? Yes, this is what all people with memory issues do, they become gladiators in a deathmatch to regain their identity. LOL

@XubunnytwoYea their reasonings are questionable acording to our morals 95% of them would be considered complete psychopaths.

But it got even worse later on, most of the later additions don’t have any real charactertraits aside from what they are into. And everyone is just so happy and all about flowers and rainbows while beeing in a deathmatch, it’s just so weird.exception there is just crypto and again revenant especially he is very serious about it while he is the only one that has nothing to lose lol

But yea Wattson papa would be proud of you becoming a massmurderer.

@matzesingt Apex has very unfortunately neglected the lore since season five, where as then we had a pve weekly mission going into the "Shadow realm" to retrieve artifacts and have interactions between the legends. It ended up being us rebuilding ash' head that was launched into the other dimension.

Since then we've been getting less and less. The weekly missions now have absolutely nothing happening, the new legends aren't the stars of their own season, and the most lore we get is in the trailers.

Respawn has a lore archive now on the apex site but that's something that should've happened a long time ago. And I think there missing a few things that are key lore details.

For anything substantial if you haven't been around since week one, haven't gone through the archive or don't the pathfinders quest lore book is to enjoy fan made stuff.

I've made a hundred and one season concepts and it has far and beyond more story and lore than what respawn and ea have put out. Help yourself.

  • I mean, it's not that unusual.  There are lots of unoriginal, essentially copies of popular games out there.  Think how many COD clones exist.  Many of the things you mentioned are not even really original to Apex.  For example, A-walls exist in many games.  They're just FPS tropes that get used a lot.  But yeah, I'll agree that the level of unoriginality displayed by this game is particularly cringe.  It's actually comical to me!

    Have a great day, legend!
