Ah I see, yeah just read into it and it seems interesting.
From what Andrew has said, it seems indeed silly that he wants it in 2027, at that point there definitely isn't much left from the playerbase, especially with how it has currently been going.
Of course it's possible that Respawn/EA has a lot of great updates in store that could turn it around, but I can definitely see that at this point in time, that it doesn't seem likely for the game to hold on all the way up to 2027 unless something drastic is done.
I know how it went with Overwatch 2, you can't exactly make an overhaul without taking resources off the current live-service game. So if this will be happening, we will also see Apex become worse up until the point they release the update. An Update that is not guaranteed to bring players back / satisfy the community.
I think this is a really risky play of them, and I think it'll likely do more harm than good. Since I don't know their exact plans, who knows what'll happen. But as with Overwatch 2, I realllly do not like what I'm hearing so far.

Going by what they've done over the last two seasons, and what they've announced for the upcoming season, I would say that there will probably be a lot of flashy and attention-grabbing changes that will ultimately be detrimental to gameplay, and possibly also to retention. Although retention is dropping for a lot of reasons, so maybe their "everything but the kitchen sink" approach really is the right answer. All I know is that I didn't like the rift relic fiasco, I didn't like the support meta, and I won't like the upcoming assault meta. The one bright spot on the horizon is the new weapon availability mechanic. I very much like the idea of being able to get my preferred weapons more or less on demand. Honestly, if I get to third circle and I still haven't found a tripletake then it's usually an express trip back to the lobby. Playing with weapons I don't like or have any confidence in has just lost all appeal. But any way you slice it, two years is a LONG TIME to wait for substantive change.
Time will tell.
