Apex is a joke
Apex Legends is becoming a joke, and the priorities are completely backwards.
How are we still dealing with cheaters on CONSOLE in 2026? Console players are supposed to have a more controlled environment, yet people are still abusing exploits, strike packs, Cronus devices, and other forms of cheating that ruin the experience for legitimate players. What exactly has the anti-cheat team accomplished that players can actually feel? Where are the meaningful results? Because from the player’s perspective, it feels like the same problems keep coming back while the people responsible for addressing them have very little to show for it.
You can’t keep asking people to grind ranked, compete, and invest hundreds of hours into a game when they feel like the competition isn’t even fair. Ranked integrity should be a priority, not an afterthought. Players shouldn’t have to question whether the person beaming them across the map is genuinely better or abusing something that gives them an unfair advantage.
And here’s the part Respawn really needs to understand: Call of Duty is going to be a massive opportunity for frustrated players to move on. Every season, Apex gives people another reason to lose interest, and when COD comes around, a lot of players are going to be asking themselves why they’re still putting up with the same issues. If COD delivers a more enjoyable experience and gives players a reason to stay, Apex could lose a significant chunk of its player base. That’s not guaranteed, but it’s a risk Respawn should be taking seriously.
At this point, who is genuinely excited about another legend rework or another roadmap promising changes? Those things mean very little when the core experience continues to frustrate people. You can rework legends, introduce new cosmetics, tease future content, and publish all the roadmaps you want, but none of that matters if the game itself isn’t enjoyable to play.
Nobody is asking for flashy promises. People want a fair game. They want meaningful anti-cheat improvements, actual consequences for cheaters, a ranked system worth taking seriously, and communication backed by results instead of another list of future plans.
Apex doesn’t need another announcement telling us what might change months from now. It needs to show players that the people running this game understand why they’re getting fed up in the first place.
Because if Respawn keeps prioritizing new content over the problems driving people away, they shouldn’t be surprised when players stop waiting for Apex to get better and simply move on to something else.
Fix the game first. Everything else comes second.
