Apex is pulling in insane revenue!

It's kind of easy to think that games like Apex are actually digital marketplaces with games attatched to draw in punters. When you look at the money being made it seems pretty clear that this is actually the case. Seems like profit over play/players to me. So I'm slightly embarassed to admit I've spent £50 on Apex this month. I guess I'm just a chump after all.
Games used to be better (in my opinion). Battlefield 2 was fantastic for gameplay and for meeting people. And that game was released in 2005 by DICE and published by EA who later acquired DICE. Look at Battlefield now! Admittedly games are better in a lot of ways but much worse in some of the most important aspects that matter to players. It's just so dissapointing. We don't really help our cause either. It all seems to be about control instead of a vision for something that players really want.
I mean, come on, we did know this.
Game Design from EA and Activision is a far, FAR second place to making money.
Go on, buy that $18 skin! A little blackmail only hurt a little bit of you, right? :D
