Apex Legends Region Restriction

Props to the devs for this awesome. My question is, is the game region locked to some specific regions? I live in Asia and I haven't been able to download the game

    I think I was able to find a sub-optimal solution the Origin download problem.
    What I did was that I connected my VPN to an server in America.
    Next, opened Origin to "own" the game in the library and log out.
    Next, log out and close Origin and turn the VPN off.
    After that, open Origin and log in again to download the game from the library.

Same here.  My account is us account.  but im living in korea.  downloaded it on my ps4 here and it works fine.  but cant even find it on my origin client.  and when i tried to download it from the browser it said it wasn't able.

    Do you need the VPN to constantly log in and play the game? Or is it for the process of "owning" the game?

    EDIT: YOU ONLY NEED VPN TO OWN THE GAME. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD AND PLAY WITHOUT THE VPN PERSISTING.
