Apex Legends Text to Speech on PS4 Console

Question

I have recently watched a few videos of people playing Apex on PS4 using the text to speech function. The option for this does not seem to be in my menu.

Is this now on by default?

It doesn't seem to work for me. Are there anything that may turn it off? By being in a party for instance? As I have also tried it not being in a party and it still doesn't work.

This is driving me crazy. I just want to tell teammates without a mic to use the shield I just gave them. Or to stop running off on their own!

@TheMovingUnit Press and hold the touchpad (map button) until a chat box pops up, remember to enable the "convert incoming voice to text" option so bootleg Siri won't give you a heart attack

Thanks. I have seen on some option screens thay there is an additional option of convert text to speech as well as the convert speech to text. I have that enabled but it still doesn't work for the text to speech.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding.&nbsp; You have a mic and want to be able to communicate to your randoms?&nbsp; Just switch from party chat to game chat.&nbsp; They'll hear you without the need for text conversion.&nbsp; They don't need a mic to hear what you said.&nbsp; Just yesterday I did exactly what you described., telling a scared random I was spectating to get a shield swap.&nbsp; It was gratifying to see them do so right away so that they could live for another minute or two.&nbsp; I really do think maybe I'm slightly misunderstanding the question though, let me know.

I found the option is not available in the French language I had to put the ps4 in English&nbsp;
