Apex Server lag, the unending nightmare that is.

So I am a pretty dedicated player, I have over 7k hours in the game, the kicker is that I am from Australia and the OCE servers died last year and no one plays on it anymore which leads me to play on Singapore servers, I run into Australian players there from time to time and I average a 130 ping to 150ping, 

I just wanted to talk about the state of Amazon servers and how awfully unplayable the game actually is, so obviously they are running the game on a different server system now and have less coverage and less servers per country, before the switch, I used to get 100 ping and some packet loss symbols during my game, and this was actually completely fine and playable but ever since the switch, every game is over 130 ping and 100% of the time I play is now on packet loss symbol, and the occasional prediction error symbols, I have done everything I can to maximise my connection but I have gotten no good results, my fps is capped at 140 for consistency and to avoid the bhop bug at 144fps, but I don’t actually even average 140fps in game anymore, it consistently is dropping from 140 to 90, and it feels terrible to play, I have Australian friends and Asian friends who have just quit playing entirely, and it was always because the servers couldn’t handle having them in game without total chaos with lag mid game.

to put it simply, with the 7k hours of play time of the game, I have never felt so utterly useless, I also have over 5k hours on destiny 2 and with the 10 years of the game being out I have never had connection issues even CLOSE to apex legends, and this is with the low playerbase in Australia as well, I can play on a Asian server on destiny 2 with only slight lag and no outstanding issues.

this season I actually started playing apex again doing a climb to masters, and let me just say, it is hell out there, closet wall hackers, DDOS’ing, Packet loss on 150 ping spiking up to 170 ping, people teleporting most games, and this is with a paid VPN active. 

I am all about fairness in video games and there is not even a chance I am getting my masters this season, not because I am not good enough, but everything in the game is blatantly telling me that I am not allowed to, on top do that the pubs population has decreased due to wild card and the farming of 4K badges, I can’t even play any game mode anymore unless I want to play a very broken version of apex which is wild card, no audio is bad enough as it is and wild card is a mess of getting thirded by everyone respawning and it’s an absolutely terrible game mode in my opinion.

I have quit this game before, and I really did give up on it because it was already itself bad enough with overpowered characters forcing the meta and and overall making the game less and less competitive as it went along, overcoming that was hard enough but now? it is a game that has over done itself with neglect on people who have played this game for ever and there is just nothing we can do to make it playable again, in a very literal sense.

Uninstalling might be taking it too far, but after 3 days of being in plat 1, not being able to even connect to the match 9 games out of 10, having lag so bad that I don’t even have audio when I am getting shot, I have now once again quit.

If anyone is having issues like this, please bring this post attention and maybe, just maybe, we could be brought up to attention by EA.

which I highly doubt, I am seeing everyone get mad at this game for all different reasons, and I understand some of it but I just thought I’d write my own post as I dearly played this game for so long and now it is just literally, not a game that lets me play.

What a nightmare indeed.
