Apex Solo mode News from the Net

For all of you that were hopping for the return of Solo play mode in Apex it looks like it is officially never going to happen.

Okay, I read the story. It's the same line they put out way back when, and I can appreciate the consistency, and I can appreciate that their vision of their game makes it a team-based affair. But I'll say now what I've been saying all along. A dev's vision for their own game isn't always the right vision. If there's a demand for a solo mode then they should step up and meet the demand, not roll out straw man excuses such as, "some legends don't make sense as a solo, while others are just plain over-powered as a solo." Those are weak rationales in my humble opinion. Any given match could be single-legend only. Or player can choose from a limited legend list - legends chosen to work better in a solo environment. I could go on all night about the million ways such a game mode might be made to work, about how teaming could be curbed, about why team only gameplay is not the answer to all things. But they've made up their minds, whatever my inner conspiracy theorist thinks the real reasons may be, and I'm okay with it. Or not, as the ranting might indicate.
What I'd really like is a solo PvE mode. How the heck hard would that be???

@reconzeroI've thought about this a bit and agree with you. The whole legends aren't balanced for solo is a poor excuse. Legends aren't balanced for mixtape either. Lifeline can't rez in any mode but BR. Would solos become 60 movement legends running about? Maybe. But that is a choice people have.
The original solo mode was trialed a long time ago. It would not hurt to trial is again. I myself would play it now.I feel like shooters have gone the team only route because developers have figured out it helps get some people wins and gives some people the excuse of their teammates for their deaths. Team games are fun as it's very satisfying to be part of a team that clicks. But solo can be fun too.

100% on. It's harder to be truly aware of what's happening in a multi-team environment, and so much easier to hide individual weaknesses. But still, if people want the stark truth of a solo mode, no matter how brutal that truth may be, then they should be given it.
