I think @the_ambieneer's on the right track here, the current implementation may need tweaking, but posting specifics here probably isn't the best way to go.
Reaching out to them with feedback is going to be a much better way to help them improve.
It would go a very long way if you could nudge Respawn to publicly release the stats and maybe even an API. Currently all 3rd party stats are living off scraps that they can gather from what is shown on player's profile (so if the player doesn't have the kill tracker shown, even his kills will be missing; and all that only applies to only the currently active character). Any stats collected this way are very incomplete and worthless. And that's very sad since having good 3rd party stats pages (well, official would be even better, but that's really not necessary) is a necessity for any competitive game - so opening up full player statistics for 3rd party devs (in whatever way) should be quite high on priority list.

@Biochemikas I totally agree, and we have reported the community's desire for a stats API.
If and when we have any information we'll make sure to let folks know.- 7 years ago

If and when we have any information we'll make sure to let folks know.Don't do it. All it will do is make players obsess over stats instead of enjoying the game.
Then we'll have threads of "I'm great and my stats prove it so why did this noob kill me" or "why am I playing with people who destroy my well earned (I say manipulated) stats". Not forgetting the posts on here that will be "my epeen is bigger than yours".
The only judge of skill is imo is in game. Not a stat sheet.
Just takes Cods K/D ratio for example. Everybody wants to preserve their oh so precious stats which leads to more rage quits and an even more toxic community.
Just my 2 cents 🙂
- 7 years agoI'm just pointing out that the current skill rating system is a laugh and needs to be adapted in to something better.
And yes many leader boards are broken.
But there are a few exceptions, like the Stat trackers in the FACEIT community and mainly for CS:GO. It calculates various variables, accuracy, assists, deaths, kills, wins and losses etc.
Even cs:go it self that started dividing people in to skill group purely based on win-loss ratio eventually adapted in to something in more depths taking bomb plants defusals, kill counts, accuracy rating, assists, KDR ( killdeathratio) in to the equation.
And any feed back on the current most popular 3rd party API is only positive feedback for the developers who might eventually publish their own.
For example, if Tab didn't do anything, respawn might have conjured one up based on kills divided by matches played themselves, rendering it manipulable and inaccurate.
Which than stirs up the community with snob trash talking to one another.People are focused on statistics hence the reason there's so many requests coming from the community. And it's not to see any progression for themselves, it's to assert dominance and bragging rights. the classic : "My thing is bigger than yours hahaha" mentality.
So out of my own concerns of this not influencing Apex at all. I took the liberty of testing the current most popular 3rd party API.
And it turns out to be a complete joke and failure. Pointing this out to the community makes them aware that they're not special, they're not awesome, no they're all the same and that API isn't considered as an accurate means of describing a person's capabilities. Like I mentioned in earlier posts: My original account scored high on legend and kill to level ratio's. And with the previous SKILL ELO I was on a 11.0 out of 12.0. Then they updated their product and I dropped to a 2.0 rating. As I'm actually one of few players who doesn't focus on getting kills but only focuses on winning, and you don't need 10+ kills per match in order to win.
So I said, I'll use this forum account to proof my theory that it can easily be manipulated to my advantage of guaranteeing a maximum score and a top 10 placement.
Which turned out to be true.
Which is ridiculous it's shouldn't be manipulable at all.
It shouldn't focus on kills while the goal of the game is winning and not stacking kills, it's a BR game not a Deathmatch game.
So why is it wrong for me to address this, to spread the awareness with hopes of getting a better product any day soon. But If it were up to me, I'd remove any stat tracking at all as it's usually the only thing people focus on rather than actually playing the game.
