Are you a Hot Drop Harry?

So BM (love this abbreviation) has POI's big enough to spread out on drop but I keep getting JM's that literally drop us right on top of 2 or more other squads, typically at Terraformer.

If you are this person, please explain why you do this.

I'd also like to know your honest success rate doing it.

I just can't imagine you are winning even a third of these hot drops! My experience getting dragged into these situations is immediate death or at least losing the first fight about 80% of the time.

PS - Also applies to all Fragment Freddie's out there.

PPS - Maybe these players are Terraformer Terry's.

@HappyHourSumwur Because some think killing people without guns is impressive. They need it for their "big" games. The success rate is low so they continually die doing until they get that one lower level sbmm game coupled with God gun on their landing to get that "big" game.

I don't do this. Ever. But my experience with matchmaking leads me to believe that I am THE ONLY PERSON IN APEX who doesn't. I read about others like me but I never see them in the wild. My squadmates go directly to Terraformer, Prom, or Core, whichever is earliest on the drop. And then they... well, you know.

Well when I’m on BM I think to myself (do I wanna HD or SD) if I wanna HD I then think (okay will go for the GTT or the SV) if the SV then I usually run that with the TTL or the FR. Now, if I don’t HD, and SD instead, I’ll probably do a LTY or a PMO. Depends on my FR. What’s your favorite YX?

Are we going to talk about the people that rush into a squad 1v3 and just get killed? They remind me of that Leeroy Jenkins meme.

My squad and I always love dropping at promenade (what do you call us?). The POI is not so populated with maximum 2 enemy squads and not too far away that it becomes a walking simulator of a game. Since it’s also in the middle, you can rotate to other POIs quickly after the initial drop loot.
If you were to pass Promenade in the mid-late game, I suggest leaving ASAP as it can be 3rd party heaven as it has a lot of entry points.

@HappyHourSumwur I took a bit of a break from the game for personal reasons. Anyways, when I was playing a ton, in PUB's it would depend how define hot drop.

I'm not a fan of dropping some place with sparse loot like Estates, it's just not a fun experience if the building you land in has no gun. How ever I do enjoy hot drops that have decent loot options.

Now ranked I play much more strategically mostly because I solo ranked. Typically try and land in area with 1-2 other squads. Get the early KP then go for placement.

@AcidicSoda44031 Uh. I had one yesterday that had me screaming. We were a duo and played brilliantly to get to the final 2v3. The other squad were trapped behind a vehicle close to the penultimate ring, so we were having fun from high ground sniping at them (my TM was a Vantage).

With the ring about to close and push them out I was poised with the ML when Vantage decided to drop down and take them on solo. She was killed. So I was left 1v3, took down one and got killed by the other two.

Why? I mean ... why? We had EVERY advantage, but Vantage wanted to be a hero, and ended up a zero.
