Azeron keypad, To be approved for eSports

Hi there.

I recently wanted to start scriming and playing competitive Apex.

Due to health reasons I can't use keyboard and use the product Azeron Keypad.

Asking a local open league organization, they got in contact with officials to ask if this is allowed.

Unfortunately this was denied as they believe it will give a competitive edge.which I can accept as it has a feature where it can change the joystick from keyboard input to Controller input.

But my understanding is the Azeron does not give any aim assist. But I'm not a technical expert so my word is not reliable.

I believe that if a controller is allowed in professional eSports with aim assist, then why is the Azeron not allowed using keyboard input.

The advantage of using a ergonomic keypad over a normal keyboard is not that much. It only really gives you more stability in the arm and hand. Not as much stress on muscles and ligaments.

For me I find using a joystick movement over keys can be and advantage or disadvantage. I find the movement a little bit slower then keys. But at the same time it has a nice flow to it.

I guess the only disadvantage I see is what I'm currently struggling with. If it was able to only have a keyboard input mode then I feel it would be accepted.

Is there anyone else that uses a ergonomic keypad, that could fill me in on the technical side of them specially with the whole aim assist.

Thanks 🙏 I appreciate any responses

  • Hey, @KiwiSaja
My best recommendation is the RedThunder Wireless One-Handed Gaming Keyboard, this seems to be the most similar to the product you mentioned, without being a grey area. It should be quite comfortable, it’s also wireless. It requires you to use a mouse with it, like the Azeron. I think this may be the best solution to your problem, currently in sale on Amazon. Let me know if this doesn’t work for you, and I can keep looking. Happy gaming!

Hi. Thanks 🙏 for the response. I appreciate your take. But I think you misunderstand.

I already own the Azeron Cyborg Keypad. And I want to continue using this. But in a competitive scene it is not allowed. I wanted other users to educate me if it does in fact enable aim assist because I believe it does not and I have been told by another users that it doesn't because it not a XIM device.

But yeah I've considered other option but I'm so custom to my Azeron now and don't want to buy something else.

@KiwiSaja I own an Azeron Compact, I haven't used it yet. Once my Razer Tartarus V2 gives out I was going to start using it. The hardest thing I came across with the Azeron was where to my map my jump command to. Nothing feels more natural than using space to jump.

    Hi

For me I only use scroll wheel down for my jump.

I don't use any of the keys for jump. When you do love to the Azeron I hope you enjoy it. It really is a game changer. I tried going back to keyboard when I found out I can't use my Azeron for competitive. Played for 4hrs and had to go back to my Azeron. But that's cause I have a problem with my arm.

But yeah hope you find the same satisfaction as I do with the Azeron. Really is a amazing product

I only just heard about these things a few months ago.  I really recommend to anyone reading the thread to go look on youtube for a video featuring the Azeron.  It is one of the weirdest, most fascinating game controllers ever made for sure.  Definitely a majorly niche product.

@KiwiSaja  Aren't these things used quite a bit in competitive Fortnite?
