Bad mouthing squad mates who jump solo

So I was playing with a guy I know, our third didn't have a mic and decided he wanted to jump solo and land 800m away from us. I gave him a mouthful about not being a team player and being useless etc. He gets knocked in 30 seconds. We tell him there is no way we will come for him.

He turns on his mic and tells us that he likes to loot alone because there isn't enough loot (we landed at sorting factory for crying out loud).

Was I wrong to give him a piece of my mind?

  • Random squadmate: “I like to loot alone”...

@aisthebestletter: well, you could’ve looted alone being 20-50m from us.

Random squadmate: that’s not really alone

Scienceteacher: Well, you got killed so obviously you weren’t looting alone

Random squadmate: well, it was better than knowingly knowing that my squad was here that could steal from me

Scienceteacher: well, I hope you like dying alone

    *Random squadmates leaves game*

speaking your mind is always good in my opinion. Not saying anything is detrimental... or being passive agressive

  • @aisthebestletterI think it depends how you give them your peace of mind. I try to do it in constructive ways (most of the time). It's really frustrating when you get a load out you really like and want to play with.. Only to be downed because your squad mate is on the other side of the map.

I typically tell them, hey this is a team game and a team effort... The idea is that you work together as a team..

Yeah I have had them tell me the loot thing before. I typically tell them what good is loot if you can't use it?!

Then are the times I'm frustrated and I'm not as nice.

It's even more frustrating when it's in ranked, simply because it's much more difficult to win fights 2vs3 in ranked. The skill gaps just don't exist in ranked. So you really need every team mate pulling their weight.

I had a round the other night in which me and my squad mate downed 5 people. He was pinging the vault, and I was pinging enemies. he runs off to the vault anyways.. I even told him, we'll go after we finish this fight.. Nope he could not wait. Despite the fact that we all had purple already and one of us had gold armor. So the loot vault really was not worth it to begin with.. What was he hoping to get 2-3 gold items? Maybe a purple stock or barrel stabilizer?

He came running back to us, but by the time he got there 2 of the 5 people we had downed were revived and healed. He got melted instantly and lost all the loot he grabbed.. I asked him if it was worth it..

But I try to keep in mind kids play this game. Kids do dumb things, like get preoccupied with things such as the loot vault.. When that happens they lose sight of the ultimate goal of the game. Some kids are not so bad, they still get preoccupied but you can guide them a bit.

  • Just played in a random team. I was the Jumpmaster.

Pinged the Jump location, waited for vetos, then jumped.

During jump I asked my teammates on voice to not split off and stay together.

    Teammate 3 says: "OK lol".

5 Seconds later he splits of and lands somehwere else.

15 Seconds later he is dead...

20 Seconds later he blames us to be in the wrong place!

We were at my previously pinged landing position...

This weekend is full off crazy players!
