Battle Royale Questions

Hey I am a student High School and for a project I have to ask questions for different popular videogame companies. Could someone answer the following questions about Apex Legends?

Why is this game so appealing to teens?

Why is this game different from other Battle Royale games?

What is it about the competition of the Battle Royale aspect that attracts teens?

Do you think teenagers will ever outgrow Battle Royales and Apex Legends?

Thank you I appreciate it

  • I think the person who wrote those questions is quite bias.

The gaming industry is broad and there's a large portion of it coming from an adult audience. So why assume teens or only focus on teens?
    With that sad.

The game is appealing because it's free, more mature, tactical, popular due to hype.

The game is different for adding mechanics known from different games such as Dirty Bomb and Overwatch where your character can have unique abilities to change the out come of battle. And it uses a pinging system that takes away any required form of communications and effort.

None, they just play it because it's popular not because it's their favorite game per say.

Yes they will, it's been popular for 3 years now not including the Arma mods. Eventually like any hype and or craze it will fatigue and eventually die out. Great example the survival games such rust and ark.
  • you are a teen and have the teen perspective, turn those questions on yourself. you're trying to have someone else write the paper for you with that line of questioning. you would have to ask other teens you know IRL those questions and compare. even if their answer is they don't want to answer, take that as your asking the wrong question.

    Well that's a bit harsh.

He's just asking a few simple questions when answered hardly allows him to write an essay based upon a question answered.

Maybe he's tasked to do research via a poll interviewing/questioning the target audience or involved parties.

And directly approaching the community is a smart move to do so.

So don't be hastily to pass judgement without knowing the context of his assignment.

I have a few issues with these questions, because you heavily imply that this is for teens & teenagers.

I'm in my 30's and I play BR games (amongst many other genres..mostly RTS), this doesn't really have anything to do with teens... (me and a friend of mine played with 1 random the other day...the dude was 8 years old!! Me and my buddy were like (WTF?!?!) when he spoke...)

Free to Play games will always attract the younger generations because there are not purchases (financial decisions / commitments) to be made.

Just create an email address, Origin account, download the game & bam, you're in.

Any 8yr old can do it...

As for gamers (not teens specifically) and whether or not they will outgrow BR games & APEX Legends, until the next F2P BR fad comes out, APEX will be up there with the likes of PUBG & Fortnite.

As for BR games in general, they offer things many other genres don't.

But the main reason why BR games are thriving the way they do is that it gives a type of 'thrill' that other genres don't really provide (not unless you play competitively), at least, IMO.
