The only way to avoid this is by playing with your own squad, unfortunately. Or just landing away from your team but not too far.
That is unlucky but isn't that the risk when you go skull town? I hate landing there since I die alone if i break off from my team or get no loot if we land close together. I've also rushed and stolen all the good loot before my team gets there but there isn't much I can do about it with fights happening all around me with random teammates. Can't stop to drop the stuff i don't need when an ally is getting gunned down.
- As Octane or Pathfinder I land at the supply bins on the outskirts of Skulltown and loot there before heading in because I can use my mobility to regroup quickly if needed but this person was on me like glue so I couldn't land out there if I wanted to without risking us both.
Since this incident I've been solo dropping everytime and looking for a kill or two before dying and leaving if my teammates are painfully low or toddlers or Indian, no offense to Indians but they've been some of the worst teammates I've had so far. Hopefully a better matchmaking system will be implemented to stop punishing players like thisI totally get the ammo looting thing. It's really annoying when your teammate loots from right under you.
What really drives me crazy is when I'm downed and my teammate loots a deathbox rather than pulling me back up.
Good players try to keep track of squad mates weapons and items as much as possible. Use your judgement to let items down for teammates and ping them.
Remember this vital rule:
