Bloodhound Lore Theory
Ever since the launch of Apex Legends, Bloodhound has been shrouded in mystery, and all we ever knew about them is that they are one of the best hunters in the entire Frontier.
In Season 4, Apex published the Old Ways cinematic which answered a lot of questions on their origin and left a lot on what happened after. I will try to answer what happened after the events of the cinematic but first let's look at what we know about them.
Bloodhound is the child of two skilled engineers who once worked at the Epicenter. When they were very young, both their mother and father were killed in the flash freeze accident, and their uncle Artur took them in.
Artur taught Bloodhound the Old Ways, a belief system that rejected technology and focuses on the glory of nature. However Bloodhound was constantly drawn to technological marvels, using a Charge Rifle to take down the Goliath that had terrorised their village. The killing method was much to Artur's dismay, however, causing a young Bloodhound to face exile. But when the Goliath returned, Artur sacrificed himself to save Bloodhound, a sacrifice they have never forgotten. After the death of Artur Bloodhound was thirsty for vengeance, and once again confronted the Goliath. Artur's raven helped Bloodhound slay the beast and draw revenge.
But there's still a huge chunk of lore missing: what happened after the trailer. What motivated them to join the Apex Games.
My theory is that after the death of Artur, the tribe disbanded and Bloodhound became a solo hunter on World's Edge, using old and new methods to survive in the wildernesses of World's Edge. But they decided to move to Kings Canyon for fresher, greener habitats to hunt. There they lived for a few years until they heard of the Apex Games, making the decision to honor their brethren before them and the Allfather in the popular bloodsport.
