YAY! i'm not the only one voicing this out! 

i think they "love" Revenant the way SouthPark "loved" Kenny. in Every trailer respawn dropped, back then, they Always killed Revenant. 

speculation aside, i have a supporting comment to your post. 

They took Everything that made Revenant and gave it to other legends: Seer's Tunnel thing? cancels your skills like Revenant's Silence. Ash's Bind? Stuns you a bit like Revenant's Silence. BLOODHOUND'S NEW ULTIMATE??? THAT'S REVENANT'S TOTEM!.. except you're invisible and don't return to a totem, but you see the similarities?!

Revenant was perfect for what he's supposed to be. a Nightmare Simulacrum. he's not like other Legends, but Respawn tried to make him "fit it", and it backfired for us Revenant players.
