Can we please fix the attachment swap algorithm?

There are so many situations where when you pick up the attachment it doesn't put it on the right gun, or drops an attachment to pick one up when you could have both.
Scenario 1:
    * I have a flatline and a CAR smg.
    * pick up a 3x on the flatline
    * switch to the CAR smg and holster it
    * switch back to the flatline, then to the CAR again and holster it
    * pick up a 1x classic.
    The 1x classic goes on the flatline and drops the 3x. This makes no sense for two reasons.
          1. theres an open space on the CAR.
          2. I'm not even selected on the flatline, I've selected the CAR.

Scenario 2:
   * I have a CAR and a Wingman
   * I have a Level 2 Light magazine on the CAR
   * I pick up a level 3 heavy magazine
   * The game puts the level 3 heavy magazine on the CAR and drops the level 2 Light magazine.

   In what situation would I want this behavior? I obviously want both and I'd rather drop the level 2 manually if I don't need it.
   Put the 3x on the Wingman and keep the CAR as is.

Scenario 3:

    * I have a Wingman with a level 3 mag

    * I have inventory space and I want to pick up another level 3 heavy mag that is right in front of me because my teammate pinged a CAR in the next building over

    The game does not let you do this. You have to unequip the wingman's magazine and pick up the new one directly to the wingman.

Main points to fix:
   * The attachment swap system should NEVER drop an item if there is a valid configuration in which you could pick it up without dropping something
   * The attachment swap system should prioritize the currently selected gun for any swaps, but only when that does NOT conflict with the above.

   * If something MUST be dropped, prioritize the currently selected gun regardless of tier of the thing to be dropped. If you prioritize tier, there's no way to deliberately pick up something lower tier ( for example a bruiser over a 2x4 ) without manually dropping the unwanted item first.

    * If the player has extra inventory space they should always be able to pick up an attachment and put it in that space even if they already have same or better on their guns.

  • Bump still occuring in Season 13 and if I hadn't noticed it it would have been quite detrimental to my gameplay

  • Ive lost my 3x few times like this. :D Also if you have extended mag lvl3, you cant pick another lvl2 one to your inventory, you have to slide the one on gun to the inventory and then pick another one for your gun... Sometimes I wanna pick another ine for my next weapon later or for giving it to someone...

    Just a tiny point, in firing range you can pick up superfluous attachments by holding what is, on console at least, the weapon swap button.  I'm not sure I've ever tried to pick up say, an extra lvl 2 mag when I have a purple one, in game.  But I don't imagine that it acts any differently in game.

    edit - I decided to check to make sure I'm right and, sure enough, I can easily pick up a superfluous lvl 2 mag by holding the triangle button.

    What he means is, You cant pick up any Mags into your Backback of the SAME Level that your ONE Gun already has (this issue is behaving only when you run around with one single weapon), and hold on it to go and grab the SECOND Weapon afterwards.
    It only works if the Mag has another Tier Level (on PC you use Alternate Pickup Keybind for this).

    You need to put your Mag that you have on your ONLY Weapon into the backpack first, and then you get the second mag, on your ONLY Weapon again, and now you have 2 Magazines of the same level and you are able to go and grab the second weapon now for it.

    His Example was with two Lv3 Heavy Mags and a Wingman fitted, and a CAR SMG that he was going to grab AFTER he wanted to grab the second LV3 Mag.
    Again, when the second Heavy Mag would be a LV1 or LV2 or GOLD Mag, the Alternate Pickup Key works, and THAT is something that he explained, and ofc, it makes no sense and is counterintuitive and very, veryyyy, veryyyyyyyyy easy to fix in my opinion.

    It just seems that the AutoLoot Algorithm is not reckognizing the same Mag Level on the ground as an alternate object "grab" because "ALL" your Weapons (in this specific case you only have ONE Weapon but Autoloot checks it as ALL WEAPONS) have already the "same" Tier Level attached. Therefore it only recognizes "OTHER" Levels as alternative object "grab".

    Easy fix, a check function in between if one or two weapons are fitted and therefore release the "same Tier Level" Mag Restriction or even easier, but sure a bit "distractive" maybe, disable the Tier List Algorithm completely when you have only ONE Weapon fitted and let all Tier Levels, be a "alternate object" grab Function, and switch back as soon as the 2 Weapons Fitted Function comes back with TRUE.

    It really is super simple...i would say, 40minutes for one guy to implement it but who knows what will be broken after someone changes one or two lines of AutoLoot Code :D idk maybe we will have Godzilla fight KingKong on the Map...and little white space Unicorns will drop from the skies and bring the purity of the Flamethrower upon us.

    @ALIEN_I_AM Cheers for the correction/clarification!

    EDIT:  Maybe I'm still misunderstanding you.  I just went to the range to see what you mean.  I put a couple different level mags on a P20, without having picked up a second weapon.  When I looked at the same mag on the ground, I got the regular "pick up" prompt and could pick up a second, identical mag into my inventory with no issue.  I dropped the P20 and tried a different weapon with the same results.  I'm left wondering if perhaps PC and console behave differently in this regard.  What have I got wrong here?
