I just need to come and vent. Ive played this game since release, I'm a masters/pred level player, my little brother is new to apex he's like level 15. Girlfriend is a solid player. However neither of them will even play with me anymore due to my lobbies with SBMM. Why cant the SBMM take into account the teams skill level instead of just the top players? I cant even play with people I love bc of this. This is what leads to smurfs being made. I just needed to come vent for a minute, I played 2 games with them then they just left bc they weren't having fun they get one clipped instantly. I just needed to rant for a second bc its taken away something we used to enjoy doing together. I agree there needs to be some SBMM to an extent but it should take into account overall team skill level in my opinion. Im going against triple stack masters teams with them on my team. /end rant

Plus with the amount of games I've played since launch you could say I'm probably closer to that timeframe than I care to admit.They should do a separate lobby for newer players like they do on other games considering lets face it the only thing we have atm is what? A lvl requirement for ranked xD That doesn't really do anything to protect newbs."You think the bad players will get better just by playing other bad players?"It's a tricky situation because they need to be up against skilled enough people to get a good handle on the game whilst still being able to have fun. SBMM is supposed to help push this idea but it kinda doesn't work as intended. This is why people always scream about master/preds/20K dmg/ 20 bomb players being in their lobbies. In the same sense how are you supposed to get better if you're getting beamed by APEX gods every match? xD"When i play randoms i get below average teammates 9 times out of 10. Then I'm against pre made masters squads. It just doesn't make sense. I played arenas solo the other day got a level 3 and a level 19 on my team. Other team was 2 diamonds and a master"I'm completely with you on this. I hate this games SBMM and it just seems to get worse. Idk if it's from my partner and I getting better but it's just all over the place. I honestly this season has been the most frustrating since launch. And I don't play on the same lvl as Masters/Preds just to clarify yet my lobbies are littered with them.

@lightning_5o That's a big hurt homie, but look on the bright side: SBMM may be making it hard to play with your younger bro, but it's also keeping him safe from folks like you dropping into his matches and ending his career. Also, speaking as a younger brother to a more skilled Apex player, getting one clipped every game is only slightly less fun than having your older brother carry you through a match

@lightning_5o I get it I have been here before. But they do need SBMM if they did not have it your friends and family with have no place at all to game. I try to encourage them and/or only play with one at a time while playing with another high skill friend. Typically me and the other high skill friend can carry our third. They do get knocked a ton but they have some occasional success. Typically when they leave our lobbies they go destroy their skill level lobbies.

Either should be random in pubs minus brand new players or take into account the entire team not just the top player.

I never said there shouldn’t be any SBMM. I just don’t think it’s tuned properly. It shouldn’t just take into account the very top players skill level it should be a combined level

@gg123xyz Sure in ranked. I dont land hot with them with me, I usually land somewhere close but not too close to some teams so we can loot properly then third party.

@gg123xyz Id rather walk on glass barefoot than play a first person shooter and loot for 15 minutes. Even if we did that it'll be a pred 3 stack at the end probably with my brother who just started playing. I get why they do it though SBMM caters to the 98%

@gg123xyz Youre right i am the problem since I get punished for being a good player. Why does it matter to hide until top 3 if the other 2 teams are going to be a stack of sweats against my brother who is new? Whats the point? The real solution is to make pubs random minus new players or take into account the skill level of the entire team.
