The other way they used it is teams with horizon and valk combos would horizon queue to an OB high spot and then they would valk ult from that spot, getting much more height and distance from the ult.
On KC they provided a lot more access to high spots just like they did with trainyard on WE. I remember a time when only path could get to the hanging cars.
I don't know. One man's exploit is another man's map knowledge + legend knowledge + just generally being smarter and/or more creative within the limits of the rules. As you said, one squad does it for a wipe and then immediately has it done to them. That's creativity + karma. Not seeing anything there that requires a map change. To me it kinda reeks of gold knockdown predator whining.

@reconzeroIt's not knowledge or anything. Cause they all were doing it. Much like when team comps become 3 legends only it was terrible to play and terrible to watch.
As for the gold knockdown- I've seen lots of negative comments about it by people who've never watched a high level match decided by it. It was ridiculous and did not reward the best team. The change was good. And it barely affected me or anyone else playing at lower levels.- reconzero3 years agoSeasoned Ace@hayhor
High spots that were fair play and are now out of bounds, gold knockdowns, what-have-you. There are always factors in this game that can tip the balance in favor of the lesser squad. Only speaking for myself, that's part of the reason I'm here instead of the Haloverse. I'm not saying I want a game where luck rules all, but when luck plays a role in game outcomes then luck management become a legitimate skill. And I need a game to have skills other than "aimbot." Because one of those I do not have.
And, as I've said before, what makes for good masters-level gameplay is something that has zero effect on my experience so I'm reluctant to get behind any of the myriad changes this game has undergone for their benefit, even if it was only a matter of principle. - Kyldenar3 years agoSeasoned Ace

It's not like you can get super far away when downed unless the enemy Octane drops a pad for you.
Personally, I think being aware of and responding to a revive sound is part of the gameplay. And frankly, I think self-revive should be a thing ANY time you have a full medkit in your bag.
- hayhor3 years agoHero@Kyldenar Again, another that's clearly never watched algs high level play. Many algs matches come down to zero playable zone. Meaning the zone is killing your health. One guy gets downed and has a gold knock and the other is 40 health. The knocked player puts up their gold knock and the player that knocked them cannot finish them before the zone kills them.
If you want self revives I suggest warzone 2. You can buy as many as you want.
