CHARGE RIFLE
The new CHARGE RIFLE weapon is too strong, should be from the drop like Mastiff or kraber, everyone is running with this rifle now.
honestly i dont think its that bad to call for a total nerf of the weapon. The CR by itself has too major drawbacks already:
1. the weapon is so long poeple miles away can hear a gunfight going on before they hear the bullets off in the distance
2, for a sniper its pretty risky. other weapons are fire and forget but with this u have to consistently hit your target while pretty much not moving and being out in the open to receive return fire.
due to both of these i'd say its as powerful as a g7 scout but not really all that powerful in the long-run. sure the way it deals damage harasses the enemy but all it takes is for them to shoot back and dodge the charged shot and ur gonna be in for a rough time. at least using the triple you can have an un-even battle at long range but with the CR. u basically killing yourself.
and dont even get me started at close range, hell a spitfire/R-99/Devotion out damage u too quickly to make it viable. the only time ive been killed with this thing is being in the urban areas. anywhere else and im usually hunting people down for their own CR just to take it.
I miss the Longbow days, back then you could actually see who could aim - with a hit scan sniper - you can land shots in your sleep. I tend to refuse using it, since its too effiencient with how easy it is to use. I get 0 stratification landing shots with it, back with Longbow hitting a headshot on a moving target felt great though, since not a lot could do that. I hope they will nerf this no skill charged rifle into the ground, I really do. This weapon belongs in Overwatch, not Apex.
I get that they wanted to cater to the potato aims, but seriously, this is too much.
I feel like for me personally, the main issue with it is the fact that the beam itself completely obscures the shooter when they're using a charge rifle and you're using any other sniper, makes counter sniping a real pain in the butt, combine this with the lack of recoil from the charge rifle and it makes finding a gap to shoot the user with any other sniper a real pain.
I can live with the damage and fall off range, although i understand why it's aggravating people so much.
I land in Overlook and find a charge rifle in the first loot bin I open. Moments later, I see a Pathfinder landing at about 50m away and scrape 52 damage points off of him right as he grabs a white armor. He runs behind a crate, but then immediately pushes me, as he's got no meds / batteries. I hit him again, another 30-40 damage. He's hurt, but closing in fast. Dodges my third shot, then grapples right near me. I beam him once more with another 20-30 damage. He's still on his feet and starts punching me. I try to reload, but before the animation finishes I get punched again and have to restart the process. I try to punch him but miss and then, as I try to run away to gain some time to reload, Path grapples me and downs me with another punch.
Charge Rifle can be beaten with bare hands, if you are skilled.
@DoYaSeeMeThis made me laugh hard, sorry but I dont think the main thing to take out of this story was the Pathfinder, but rather how are you able to miss shots with CR, even close range ADS or hip is easy as hell to land - compare that to Longbow mate.
Well I did it! Finally gotten the 10 downs with this weapon (I really dislike sniping and for some reason the actual hit always misses but the beam constantly connects...)! I’m better with this thing in close quarters than with actually sniping it seems xD
Potential nerfs that I see viable for this weapon:
