console movement suggestion and possible horizon passive fix

Hello, I've been an avid Apex Legends player since its second day of release, and I truly appreciate the skill gap the game offers, emphasizing the importance of good aim and movement. The inclusion of advanced techniques like wall jumps and super glides adds an exciting layer to the gameplay. However, I've noticed a frustration regarding the movement capabilities on console compared to PC. On PC, any character can tap strafe, whereas on console, only Horizon has a similar capability. This discrepancy feels limiting in certain situations, affecting my and many other players’ abilities to engage in fights effectively. For instance, whenever I fight an enemy using Horizon, their movement makes it very hard to land my shots, and it’s not a fair fight even though I main small hitbox characters and have some decent aim as well. I don’t think it’s fair for a character to be able to move like that while the other can’t do much about it. I believe addressing this difference in movement mechanics would not only contribute to a more balanced and enjoyable experience for console players but also garner support from many within the console community.

Moreover, if tap strafing were to be implemented on console, it should be designed in a way that distinguishes between skilled players and average players. Introducing a more nuanced system that requires precision and mastery could elevate the overall skill gap and make the gameplay experience more rewarding for those who invest time in mastering this technique.

Additionally, I'd like to suggest a new passive ability for Horizon. Considering her astronaut and gravity controller theme, her new passive could involve maintaining her unique characteristic of not slowing down or making the screen shake after falling long distances. This adjustment would align with her expertise in gravity control. Furthermore, her passive could include traveling further distances when leaving the drop ship or evac tower, emphasizing her low gravity theme. Thank you for considering these suggestions, and I appreciate the hard work the development team puts into making Apex Legends the game it is today.

  • People don’t talk about Horizon’s passive enough. I know people that will emphasize how impactful movement is in Apex who will simultaneously downplay how Horizon’s passive gives her access to movement that’s simply not replaceable by other legends— this is doubly true on console.

Even after the nerfs, she is just too damn effective, and its all centered around that passive, which is available to her at all times with no consequences (because it’s a passive)

Top legnd Pred? Horizon. Top legend at Masters? Horizon. Top legend at Diamond? Horizon.
