Controller players

Hello everyone,

I wanted to start a conversation on something that has been bugging me—and probably a lot of other people—for a while now: Apex Legends' controller aim assist situation. This has been a popular topic for a long time, but let's face it, it seems to have reached a breaking point.

To put it bluntly, I feel that controller aim assist is totally broken. Not only is it powerful, but it's also almost aimbot-level overpowered, particularly in close combat. It's crazy how it tracks and snaps targets with little any player interaction. It's quite annoying for me as a mouse and keyboard player to lose battles because the game is actually aiming for the other person, not because they were better than me.

Okay then if u say its not “locked” and its a mnk “aim issue” then explain why is there so many configs cfgs and literal aimbot jitter configs for controllers dont they have enough advantage? Why do they need 10 15 cfgs to aim shoot or do movement? Explain and plus there is STEAM controller configs that literally make ur aim not have ANY recoil for CONTROLLER in long range (:

reconzero  I don't think its ever "locked" on like a ESP or aimbot, but what it does, is with console AA at 0.6, that means 60 % of the input tracking on a legends "bubble" or hit box, is automatic, and the other 40% is player input. IMO, anytime there is "artificial help" to aim, well....kinda speaks for itself don't it? Doesn't matter what  I may think tho, bottom line is its all about dollars and cents to the Corporate moguls. Console is a much bigger target market. Gotta keep them couch potatoes happy lol.

There a pretty decent video of the Aim assist breakdown here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm5CAGDabAc

  • I agree with what my colleague wrote above. Want to play in the MnK lobby - only play against the same players who don't have crazy AA.

You want to play on a controller - play with others who will have 0.3 or 0.6 AA depending on the platform.

I'm just as tired of losing close to people who have AA, but what can I do about it? Given the current player base, I doubt EA and Respawn will do anything about this.

Only powerful MnK players are able to compete at a high level with controllers. A relatively good MnK player will always have big problems with even an average controller player.

It is also worth mentioning various types of software that make the weapon's recoil practically non-existent. 2025 is the year when EA/Respawn must find a solution to this and introduce a security update that will eliminate this problem, which is huge and constantly growing. I hope that there will come a time when the cheater population will be less noticeable and I will again feel that this game is somewhat fair play.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful when I say that this made me laugh out loud. It's just the truth. Controller player for 25 years here, and my reticle has NEVER locked onto anything, NEVER tracked anything more than a nudge in the general direction, or EVER held a target so I could one clip. Not in Halo, not in CoD, not in PUBG, not in Apex. I say this every time one of these threads gets going, and to this day no one has ever been able to offer an explanation of how players can possibly have such dramatically differing perceptions or experiences. I get the "you just can't aim" thing quite a bit. Which is ludicrous on the face of it when you consider that the entire argument is that aa doesn't even require a player to aim on their own.

So let me say again what I've been saying all along. If you have enemies SNAPPING to you in cqc fighting, that is NOT aa. That's an actual aimbot. It's a cheat. Why is it so hard for people to accept that they're facing cheaters in a game with a long and documented history of cheating?

And the real answer here is not to get rid of controller aa. It's to get rid of mixed lobbies.
