Curious case of the disappearing server

So several days ago, to my utter delight, a server appeared that allowed gamers in Africa to PING at 140 to 150. This server was flooded with African players and while games didn't load as quickly as the EU servers, we were able to find games within a minute at a time. So a pretty healthy turnaround. 

Let me tell you. When you are playing at 220 PNG, 150 feels amazing!! 

I never played so much Apex in a very long time. Mt sessions were 4 hours in the evening. That's how much fun that was. I played for 3 straight days on that server.

But then, last night I jumped on and the server is gone!!! I logged on again the next morning and again now this evening and yeah, the server is gone. 

Someone told me that it isn't gone. Its the ME-SOUTH server. But that can’t be right because that server PINGS at 300. How can a server just suddenly drop to 150 for 3 days? That makes no sense.

What is going on?
