Hi! As some of you might know, the ranked system has been broken for a couple seasons already. The problem is simple, matchmaking is fair until you reach diamond 3. Once you're at that level, you will be matched with all the best players. That could range from pro league team squads to the best of the best twitch streamers. There unfortunately isn't any in-between which prevents some players to reach their normal rank. I myself was able to reach diamond 1 with mirage during the first couple seasons solo queuing. Now with a squad and using champions that are a lot more relevant, its just seemingly impossible to do the same again. I've discussed with countless diamond players who feel left out by the ranked system too. Is EA aware of the problem?Will the system be reworked to fix the issue in a following season?What does the community think?What are your workarounds? (I read about switching servers from NA to EU but that seems counter productive as you will deal with higher latency)Thank you!

@OPL3XITY Diamond and above is like 3% of all players. You cant have preds in platinum lobbies, which is why they end up with diamonds. Not much can be done about this or queue times would increase immensely.

@twitchSeriel_FPSThat's exactly the problem. If they would make it how I said it, the change in skill level would not be so abrupt. Example: you're in plat, then you're fighting against plat skill level enemies, once you climb to diamond you should be fighting against diamond skilled enemies. When you get to diamond 1 however, you are very close to becoming a master, but to do so you would need to have the skill level of master and that is proved by fighting and winning against master/preds. This way I suppose there will also be more master players then there are now because there would be more people playing ranked at diamond level. Getting to diamond 1 and then struggling your way to master sounds much more appealing to me then getting d3 and trying to struggle your way to master through 3 divisions basically.

@hayhorYour reply made me think out of the box. What if devs made a simple algorithm to compensate for unfair matchmaking. So let's say you're matched with a lobby full of pros but aren't supposed to, you would be matched with diamond 4 players that compensate for the unfair match. I believe rocket league uses that kind of system.Before you can go up, you'll be matched with higher level players right before ranking up. If you go down too quickly from being matched with too good players, it will match you up with lower skills players.

@OPL3XITYI had the same problem, also many of my friends are in the same situation, hardstuck d3-d4. It's eazy for me to rank up until i hit diamond 3. Then i go against the best of the best and die in 1 second no matter my position, my guns or whatever and i'm back to d4. They should match d1-masters-preds and leave d4-d-2 to play against diamonds and high plats. This way if you deserve master then you should be able to beat master/preds, but once you hit the highest echelon of diamond which is diamond 1. It would be ideal if preds would only play against masters/preds, but to do this they would have to do some serious changes to ranked. As it is now i know many people, myself included who give up on ranked once they hit d4/d3 and switch to pubs.

@OPL3XITY If they did something like what you suggest they would have to eliminate pre-mades in ranked. It would have to be entirely solo queuing. I think that would be even worse than matching D3-Preds together.

As @hayhor has suggested there just are not enough players in the Diamond, Pred and Master lobbies. There are only 500 Predators and I'd imagine about as many Master rank players. To keep them in their own lobbies would make the game nearly unplayable for them, 10% of them would have to be on at the same time in order to fill up a single lobby. If you get eliminated first, you would be sitting around for 15-18 minutes waiting for the current match to end before you could start another round.

It just won't work. The difference between most Diamond players and Predators is the squad they play on.. Everything else is fairly minimal in terms of a difference.

I think it would be a better idea to let D4s into the lobbies to get farmed or get good
