Did 3rd Parties somehow get WORSE in S13?

Is it just me or do 3rd Parties get a lot more frequent when the new Season started?

Usually I have the least amount of 3rd party situations on Storm Point but at least in my experience it happens almost every game now including some situations where 4 or 5 squads end up all attacking the same building mid game.

For context I'm on Xbox

  • @SILVERisSORRY 3ping is still a thing on SP. It always has been. There are limited rotation options and in pubs people all drop on half the map so the whole map isn't utilized. It is a BR. 3rding is a huge part of the game type.
  • All roads seem to lead to cascade, the place is the ultimate 3rd party clusterfudge.

You make an enormous map and you're invariably gonna get more 3rd party situations though as people who don't hotdrop suicide are looking for literally anybody to fight.

@MandatoryIDtagThat is true, that's why I think they need to rework the drop ship, maybe have set points on the map that squads can choose to spawn at like control, but make it so 2 teams can't spawn in the same place

They could even try removing the RING altogether and have a system like Sword Art Online's Battle of Bullets, where at set times during the Battle Royal a scan goes across the map like Crypto's Satillite on KC, so all players know where all teams are for a min. (This could at least be tried as an LTM maybe)

@SILVERisSORRY  I'm personally of the mindset that they should just shrink the map, so much dead space centrally.

Your way is definitely an alternative though, although I'm not sure how it'd pan out.

Cramming 20 teams into a single drop will always create plenty of hotspots no matter the map or how big or small it is as at least there will always be Pred teams who will spot other teams landing spots & will stalk them for easy kills. I mentioned previously about having at least 2 dropships going in different directions will effectively minimise a cluster of teams landing in one area of the map.But I don't have a problem with the size of Storm Point map but I do have a problem with getting around the map where there aren't enough Gravity Cannons to manouvre around the map or just get away in times of trouble. But I say just ditch the Gravity Cannons in favour of Jump towers as the cannons are just too rigid in that you can only go in one direction, just have the ability to pivot them (say 45 degrees)would make a big difference

Also I find the Armouries just an over exposed opening for 3rd party shenanigans where I (& my team) have often found ourselves at the mercy of 3rd partying by teams actively waiting for you to destroy the enemies inside, loot up & wait for you to open the hatch as there is no other escape & then lob an avalanche of grenades wiping you out completely (it's happened to me several times already). These Armouries really need reworking to prevent the 3rd party exploit.

I have not been reminded of SAO, or Battle of Bullets in a long time, but aren't we already almost there with the scan meta?

Personally, I think the ring should be always moving, at a pace that would get to final ring size at the same time as now. Force people to stop playing the outer edge as long as possible (including me).

@Kyldenar Edge play is a style tho. A smart one many times. Ring prediction is also a talent. Teams predict where it will go, go to a spot in it and are safe for awhile. Constantly closing rings show you where they are going to go.
