I was looking for ways to improve my fps on apex when I saw that you can disable all shadows by changing "setting.csm_enabled" "1"
"setting.csm_coverage" "1" values on saved games/respawn/apex/videoconfig can you get banned for this???
@ImDetonator_ you can only fiddle with the in game settings, is a good rule not to get yourself banned.

My brother. U just linked and quoted an article for EA anti-cheat. A completely different and separate anti-cheat to Easy Anti-cheat, which is what Respawn uses in Apex. Config files are not a risk. Believe it or not, you can configure with configuration files without risk.
@TroothGodSun 😃 the point is its coming, and the article outlined the efforts being made to improve anti cheating at a much deeper level. 😉
Is there an official response? I don't' want to lose my account
I emailed the ALGS staff (Apex Legends Global Series, official pro league by EA/Respawn etc), and asked if disabling shadows is allowed. Their response said that it is ALLOWED in even official Apex Legends tournaments.
So I think it's safe to assume that it is allowed in regular play aswell. Even many top level players like TSM ImperialHal and others are playing with disabled shadows currently.
While this may not be a public official response, at least it's something.
i think it’s crazy that we can’t find out why spot shadow detail gets stuck and EA has not said anything about it.
I’ve tried factory resetting my computer, uninstalling/reinstalling apex, making a new steam account, changing peripherals to new ones, updating all drivers, everything. It doesn’t change.
this started happening a couple seasons ago maybe after season 14 or 15

***Update***I’ve also tried to just use apex on origin/EA games app. Spot shadow detail still stuck. Which leaves me to be leave it’s something to do with EA / respawn and your online account not your computer hardware/software. Only thing i haven’t tried is getting. New computer all togethor.
