I think that if dive trails are completely temporary, then all the early season dive trails need to be taken away too. It's not fair that my season 8 dive trail gets taken, but Billy gets to keep his from season 2. Take away ALL of them, or take away none of them.
I've been playing since day 1, but unfortunately, I didn't play ranked back then. So yeah I do think it's fair.
@ImABetaCuck my dear friend, if you had played ranked back then, you wouldn't have a gripe now. The dive trails were available to you then and the rules were that the dive trails were permanent. Not so now. Its unfortunate you didn't take advantage of the opportunity at the time.
My og diamond dive trail was hard earned and it is fair that I get to keep it, as that was the deal with respawn at the time.
One can't be revisionist about somthing when it dosnt suit one personally, as one could appear to be having a sudden fit of pique, esp at this remove from the formal decision to make the dive trails season based.
Getting to diamond now is far harder than it was back then. Most people with OG pred trails are dogwater.
I don't know if It's because I just got better at the game, but getting to Diamond in season 2-4 was much more difficult for me than recent seasons. Getting out of Diamond is another story.

During season 3(second season of actual rank) they made the announcement about this. I have both first and second ranked diamond trails. Not easy I am not sure how you came by that it was.
there was no master it was diamond predator, platinum was a bit&& and the scoring system was different.
To prove my point go back to season 3 and look up ban hammer applied to rank players. People weee f4, or console equivalent to not lose ranked points. Those who were caught doing it did not get the dive trails.
As far as the temporary ones, it was announced and has been this way since then. I think you should get to keep them always have. But I also played when that was the case and earned mine in game as well.
Taking something away from someone who earned it through the system that was in place seems kind of wrong. You and others obviously have the same thought and if it comes to pass then so be it. To me it just signifies in season 2 and 3 I committed to playing the game and was rewarded for it. Not like I can’t live without them.
