Wait until the Season 1 Battle Pass releases before casting your final judgement. It may be a good deal, it may not but we don't know yet.
I think Respawn deserve some of my money for the time I've invested as they also surely do from anyone that reaches level 100. But if you spent the value of a full priced game directly on skins and packs it won't get you very far at all. This wouldn't have mattered as much if I could still grind for free if I didn't get the results I expected. Instead I am discouraged from potentially starting a streak of horrible impulse purchases.
Edit: It's also worth mentioning that I'm concerned for the longevity of the game and the flow of new content. They've laid out a good foundation but in many ways it's still a very bare game. I hope I'm still interested when they add a matchmaking queue that demands more commitment. Right now the most 'legendary' thing about Apex Legends is the rampancy of serial quitters. Apex Leavers might have been a more accurate name.
That is where we are at now.. People will either stop playing or spend their whole months rent on the game... Yep... and yet the people saying its alright to do this are basically encouraging you to do it and then turn around and say hey its a free to play game why are you crying ?!?!?!

The leavers problem is not with leavers per se but with people crashing. "bad_module_info" on win10 and "r5apex.exe - application error" on older OS's are cause of many people being booted out randomly during the game or sometimes I am not even able to launch the game as bad_module pops up on a first logo.
Apparently problem is connected to the Easy Anticheat but idk, it's just a rumor. So far no fix so hopefully it'll get better soon.
