EA Account False Ban

Ok, where to start. My EA Account was permanently banned in the end of October. The only game that I play is Apex Legends. I started on console season 0 and transitioned to PC in July 22. I have thousands of hours on Xbox and admittedly fewer on PC, but my accounts are linked. I appealed the ban twice and was simply told "you violated TOS, the matter is closed". No actual reason given. I wasn't cheating, I am a plat/diamond player w/a ~1/<1 KD. I was playing on my boyfriend's PC that he had been using for the prior ten months without any issues. There have been multiple accounts (mine, his, his nephew's) used on this PC w/o any problem whatsoever. The PC does have MSI afterburner and Logitech G Hub which I have read can trigger a false positive on the EA Anti-cheat. I had more or less given up and skipped season 15 of Apex. My bf recently started playing more and I have wanted to play, naturally I made another account and have been playing, but my main account has virtually every cosmetic in the game, and with cross progression on the horizon it is extremely disheartening to know that I lost my account for no reason whatsoever. I recently appealed again and was effectively told, we aren't looking into it. I filed another appeal just now begging to be given an actual reason. If they can give me a REAL reason for the ban, fine. (There isn't even a remote possibility that they can find a real reason). The only term I may have violated was moving from Canada to the US and not changing my region, but I know plenty of people use the Belgium exploit to get crafting metals in Apex and have never heard of a ban wave for that. If I was cheating, why not a hardware or IP ban? If that PC has an issue, why is it that it's been gifted to my bf's nephew and he's able to play on it every day with no issue whatsoever? It is so discouraging. I even had a fairly well known streamer reach out and say he would speak with Hideouts (head of respawn security) and Hideouts is effectively too useless and busy streaming and going out to eat with Apex pros to look into it. I would like to speak to a real person, who is willing to have an actual dialogue, not a bot, not someone in a call center blasting out generic emails. I really hope this is able to reach the right person. I'm at the point where I am literally begging for someone at EA to help me, to listen to me, that if you dig, the ban is incorrect. Thank you

also, recently an ex-Apex pro was banned for actually cheating, literally changing things in the config files and streaming it, all while calling out Respawn and devs, AND getting a response on Twitter from a dev, followed by a live ban. Even his permanent ban FOR CHEATING has been reversed and turned into a temp ban. How is that he receives a temp ban for CHEATING? While I receive a permanent ban with no strikes against me, warning, or justification outside of the generic, you violated TOS

Hideouts is not someone who assists with unbanning players, the best place for contact would be via the ToS team.

Manipulation of game files via CFG's can be bannable if it removes certain effects that could give more visibility.

Performance configs should be fine, though do note that it's generally better to stick to the in-game settings where possible.

As for why the permanent ban got overturned for another, I wouldn't know, though if they've decided to make that decision they must've had a reason.

Now do note that AHQ is a community forum, account issues cannot be assisted with here.

You could try to contact the ToS team again unless specified by them to not send in any further tickets on the matter.

If they've decided to uphold the ban, it's most likely a permanent decision.

  • Hideouts is well known for assisting pros and recently overturned a false ban for a pro player or at the very least assisted in getting that account restored.

the player that I mentioned that just had his account restored was literally banned for editing the config files to remove ALL visual clutter including his gun, which you just cited as an offense that should result in a permanent ban. So what's the justification for this turning into a temp ban when he was clearly cheating? But I can't even get a REASON for my permanent ban.

There is a complete double standard by EA/Respawn in regards to who is banned and why. I don't even know why I was banned. Permanent ban, no reason given on an account I have spent thousands of hours and thousands of dollars on. I have contacted the TOS team, four times now. They have refused to give an answer. That in itself to me is suspicious and wrong. If you're going to ban someone permanently from something they have invested thousands of dollars into and supported in so many ways, I would think that would warrant some sort of justification at the vary least. To me, this is a false and incorrect ban. I'm here because both the Respawn team and the TOS team has not been of any assistance in any way. I'm here to escalate this to someone that is actually interested in customer service and retention and helping me. You aren't preventing me from playing Apex or any other EA game, to me all that's happened is that you've robbed me of thousands of dollars with no justification, which is flat out wrong.

Please note no one here on the forum can assist you with your Ban, I really mean no one when I say that.

The only thing we can do is point you in the direction of who to contact and some advice.

If you believe you have been hacked take appropriate measures to secure your account and associated E-mail account https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/account/secure-hacked-ea-account/

If you believe that a sanction (Suspension/Ban) placed on your account was by mistake you should reach out to the Terms of Service team https://help.ea.com/za/help/account/information-about-locked-or-banned-or-suspended-accounts/

Re-read the Terms of Service agreement and the Terms of Sale agreement you agreed to, to play this game. https://www.ea.com/legal/user-agreement and https://www.ea.com/legal/terms-of-sale

I've reached out to TOS. I get the same generic response. I've read the TOS, I didn't violate any of them. Hence my frustration. Obviously NO ONE at EA reads these forums that can help. But I've seen people with actual authority reply to posts when I went searching. So how do I escalate my issue past someone in a call center?

@JillxKills I can only advice you to just create a new account or quit the game. Don’t expect the TOS team to even read your requests.

    I give you an example:
This very account here is permabanned for calling someone an idiot. I afterwards went to the tos team to ask if they could unlink my steamaccount from the ea account and their response was a copy paste answer that they looked into the banreason and find me guilty and don’t revoke my ban. Even when I didn’t ask them to unban me in the first place… that’s the funny part 🙂

The community managers on these forums are not affiliated with the department that manages account bans.

The places you can contact the ToS team is most likely only via https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

Though you can try to contact them on Twitter.

Generally this article has all the general information you need: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/account/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts/

If they really decide it's a permanent decision then it's going to be a permanent decision, nobody on these forums will be able to change that for you.

Hey all, the only way to speak with our TOS team is through the following steps.

Reaching out to our live support teams, be that through twitter or elsewhere will not help you get a faster response as they do not deal with TOS issues.

The process to contact our ToS team can be found here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts/

    1. Click Contact us at the top of any page on EA Help.
    2. Select the game that your account was banned or suspended from. If it’s on your whole EA Account, choose Origin.
    3. Choose your platform.
    4. Select Manage my account, then Banned or suspended account.
    5. Fill out any other details below.
      • For example, if you picked Origin, it might ask you if you are accessing the game through an Origin Access membership.
    6. Click Select contact option.
    7. Sign in to your account that has the ban or suspension, if you aren’t already.

    Darko
