@reconzero
Wouldnt really say its the same story when your link is more of an interview where they "sell" the idea and the one I posted is pretty much just a topic without any real inside input 😉
@hayhor Exactly right. Mechanics & gunplay are what makes Apex as popular as it is. Not so sure about the ablities though.
Would be cool see a mode where they would take out the ultimate abilities from all characters.
Put more focus on the gunplay and I dont think the game would become unbalanced in terms of legend picks..
Sidetracked from the topic but who cares 🙂
For the newcomers:
If PvE Battle Royale is too much to ask, how about PvE Arena mode? Doesn't help out with the BR map knowledge but would help to learn the gunplay & legend abilities.
Once new players are confident enough to take on fights they could join the BR PvP. Get oblitarated -> back to the PvE Arena for more practice.
That's how I see it done properly.
Forcing anything & taking out options to choose what kind and how I want to play a game is never a good option.
Fortnite is a great example. You have so many options to choose from depending on your mood. You wanna sweat grind ranked, go for it. Feeling a bit tired, so might go throw nades at a zombie horde or build a house from Legos, thats fine too.
@Airish85Apex is a "Hero" shooter. Hero implies abilities play a part. I'd argue abilities are very weak compared to other hero shooters I've played. Paladins, OW being 2 that come to mind. The issue I see is some abilities are super easy to use vs others. For example conduits tactical takes no skill. Press a button and you shield heal and a teammate does(through a wall miles away). Horizon throws a thing down you just ride to height. Meanwhile pathy has a grapple that needs to be aimed and getting the most out of it takes skill. Lifelines drone has to have good placement or no one can use it.
