EA/Respawn does not own the servers?
I actually didn't know that EA/Respawn rents their servers from a 3rd party company, Multiplay which I think is owned by Unity. Their 6 year contract with Multiplay will end on August around the time...

@Cheese9Man So you never paid attention to @doyaseeme’s or E9’s posts? xD. They mentioned multiple times that multiplay is server provider. Heck, the only company I know who uses own servers and rents others is Microsoft with it’s Azure servers like they did with Crackdown 3 and now Microsoft Flight Simulator.
1) tickrate can always be increased. EA just has to pay more for that service and in their QnA with the server person they explained why they wouldn’t do that (for now).

@Koochi-Q Wasn't the fundamental issue with topic essentially that respawn doesn't feel that the improvement from 20hz to 60hz will be substantial enough to make the extra cost viable.
There was a blog written on this where same duc gives an example basically stating;
"player with a 50-millisecond ping would experience a 75-millisecond delay, getting 5 frames of lag if running the game at 60 FPS while on a 20Hz tick rate. If the tick rate was boosted to 60 Hz, the same math would see 3 frames of lag."
So essentially the bottom line is I doubt they'll make the jump to 60hz as they view it as a pointless expense. Which means they'll probably either renew the multiplay contract or jump to another provider offering 20hz aswell lol. >.>
I would expect since the contract expires soon they already have a plan for what is next. Imperialhal has mentioned on stream that good things are coming in regards to servers and ddosers so maybe he knows something.
@hayhor well I sincerely hope your predictions better than mine, improved servers would be lovely.
- @MandatoryIDtag Yea, but that’s only if you apply it to 60Hz mentality. @apostolateofDOOM brought some additional info in. Basically improving servers for 120fps players would still be beneficial cause even tho it would be costly. It has something to do with the adding up in total.
@hayhor They definitely have a new contract already up. It’s just like re-licensing or renewing your lease for a domain name. Your old one expires and usually new one kicks into effect right away.
Hope is a thing for fools or for mothers to want to call their daughters just for the sake that their life turns out great!
