For anyone with a PS5 that has a really blurry performance mode

When I first turned on performance mode objects were blurry. I'm talking right next to me syringes were 50% larger due to the blurriness. I checked my console and VRR was set to auto. I turned it completely off and the blurriness is now gone. I cannot see as far without a sight but this was expected as resolution has to be lowered to get to 120 fps. Now the game feels smoother for me. I've seen a lot of everything is blurry complaints and just thought I'd offer what helped me.

Also, a couple other things- You have to have the proper hdmi 2.1 or better cable. Next gen consoles need these and usually come with them. Your TV or monitor also needs to support hdmi 2.1. A lot of setups do not have any 2.1 ports. Even some monitors that are 144 hz do not have this capability. I have 2 tvs that have 4 hdmi ports. Only 2 of the ports on each TV are hdmi 2.1 so I need to make sure I use one of them for my PS5.

    That is one great post.

Thank you for helping the PS players.

As  PC player I would not have had any idea how to help with that type of stuff.

    Kudos.

  • @hayhorIt was very blurry to me too at first I could barely focus on anything but it seems to have adapted now it is clear and I get about 115 fps on my ps5.

It feels a lot more responsive now feels like I can dodge bullets and compete with pcs.

@Asmodeus566 Thanks. There are other things that might need to be changed for others depending on their displays. I've seen some report they had to manually adjust resolutions and manually shut down hdr.

@Palette24carats I agree it does feel better. At first I wasn't sure but after playing for awhile the smoothness is noticeable.

It's weird. I have done nothing and I never felt anything was blurry. I have VRR on on the PS and TV (HDMI1, 1 and 2 have VRR support).
