for EA developers who only listen to pro streamers not regular players

When developers do not listen to regular players and their logic, I thought this might help them:

Here is a clip for you about what pro players think about Caustic nerf:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArhXwb-WDvM

Albralelie:"I actually think this might ruin caustic; in all seriousness I'm pretty sure this has actually make caustic no longer a character

We have similar reaction from many others, just check youtube.

Caustic passive: everyone can now see in the gas, his ability to see enemies in gas is like Horizon's ability to see enemies in her ultimate.

Caustic tactical: it can be cancelled much easier, can't push building with traps (new rotation won't let it enter windows), lower damage makes everyone push in the gas without fear

Caustic ultimate: 1 minute added to the cool down, gas damage won't raise by time, base gas damage reduced to 5 damage per tick, for an enemy to die, they need to stand still in the gas for 20 seconds (almost from begining to end of the ultimate)

well done "balancing"

  • @Alphabets I was hearing similar sentiment from other top tier players in game last night. I really don't understand the Caustic nerf. Does it suck getting stuck in has gas? Yes, is he OP if you're caught in his gas? Yes.. Is he OP as a legend? No.. The gas is easy to avoid, hard to set up, risky and risky to use.

Throwing that gas canister is a huge gamble. Throwing traps mid fight is a death sentence unless you're in a building or have cover. Even then the enemies have to basically be on top of the traps for them to go off.

If you remove the gas from the equation caustic is just one big easy to hit target.

Just playing as Bangalore my KD is up more than .30, for me that's a 37% increase in my KD..

@pastaclown I think it depends on the player as to what is more impactful. If you have a hard time tracking targets, then the slow effect would have a larger impact. If you're really good at tracking then blinding would be more desirable.

When I die to caustics, it's typically a combination of things.. I have died because I could not get out of the gas.. Finish off the enemy down to 30 health and in the gas and go down because I could not get out of the gas fast enough. If I die in caustics gas I view it as my fault. But I rarely die just because of the gas. If they wanted to nerf his gas, I think it would be reasoable for the gas to completely disappear when the Caustics team is eliminated. So when you do kill all 3 enemies you don't die to lingering gas.

He's not OP like Gibi.. Multiple times a night I'll do 190 damage to gibi plus break his arm shield and still die. There have been fights in which I've broken the arm shield 3-4 times and done 170-180 damage to the gibi and I still lose the fight... If you count the arm shield alone I've done 150-200 damage to get rid of that thing 4 times. How is that not OP?!

I don't want to see Gibi over nerfed. I'd like very minimal changes so that I'm not having to do 300-400+ damage to one just to knock him.

@DarthValtrexAt the start of season 8 they changed it so that when you kill a caustics team the gas doesnt do any more damage. The gas may still linger for a couple seconds but it doesnt do any damage.

And yeah I've noticed if I use a smaller character I can probably kill more and be hit less but it isnt as much fun for me.

  • @hayhorI have noticed that if I use Caustic it's very easy to deal dmg and kill cuz his gas is basically a crutch that deals part of dmg that other legends have to do it with their guns. 😉

  • @Cro_Pittt i absolutely agree that they don't play their game as much as we do! All they look at is their "data' and even using "data" as an excuse to everything that they do.

@Cheese9ManThey clearly don't play as much as you, because they probably work 10h/day or even more at times. There is QA that plays fulltime, the data comes from them, but also for us and from test groups. It's funny when you say that they use data as an excuse, when so many here use k/d and win rate to justify their complaints.

Also, is there anyone around that has played with the nerfed Caustic already? None? Oh... you may be wrong. It's possible that, according to data, 75% of Caustics have dealt less than 4 gas damage ticks on average to enemies they have killed, with the final shot being strong enough that another gas tick wouldn't have mattered anyway. Also data might show that only 2-3% gas grenade ults get used sooner than a minute after becoming ready. But let's ignore data and use feelings instead, right?

I'd say that Caustic will be about the same for the large majority, far from being destroyed.

  • @hayhor If less people use him, less people will know how to counter him. They'll push into his gas and pump syringes while camping inside, as I hear around. This is better than a buff , it's free kills 🙂
