Can't +1 XP this comment enough.
The technical issues with cheating, smurfs, and matchmaking are things I feel like EA/Respawn should be able to address. The lack of public communication makes me suspect that they just don't care.
TBH, these issues may kill free to play model for PvP games because if you want to sustain it you have to fund methods of fighting them and selling $60 skins ain't gonna cut it. Ban waves only happen of you pay a team to do it and give them good tools to do it effectively. None of these things seem to be in place at EA/Respawn anymore (if they ever were), so this is what you get.
I'm going to throw this out there (yes after 4 weeks) on console cheaters where I play the issue of programmable controllers is 2 fold. I am not sure how much the developer can catch that. It seems to me the issue lies squarely on the console makers, i.e. Sony and MS. I don't believe they have that much motivation because I sure they are making royalties on licensing for those controllers. Crack down to hard and the lose that revenue. I certainly isn't make players leave the platforms.
As far as EA and Respawn they just seems unresponsive, as in, they really don't care. They see more profit in events and selling cosmetics. Bilking the kids who swipe mom and dads credit cards. Because lets face it, their the ones buying all this useless swag!
Real issues like the broken sound has not been fixed since day one. I don't even know if Respawn has ever addressed the issue.
